Hanful of prompts for options: (1) Paperwork mixup: wrong recipient, wording that could mean multiple things, or opposing party intercepts (2) Shenanigans involving the organizational systems of Aziraphale's books and Crowley's albums. (3) Aziraphale and Crowley introducing human things to Ligur and Hastur; confusion, enjoyment, absolute horror ensues.

This... Got a bit longer than expected. It’s a bit of a mix of all three. Hope you’ll like it: (unbetaed)

Aziraphale had expected a number of odd things to happen in the last years before Armageddon. Not a single one involved a Duke of Hell standing in Aziraphale's shop one afternoon, a heavy messenger bag slung over his shoulder.

The demon was tall, lean and obviously in a bad mood.

What Aziraphale had to give him credit for was that the few customers present began making excuses to leave. Everything else was a most unfavorable circumstance.

"You..." Aziraphale began, moving vaguely towards a basket full of lost umbrellas, canes, and a rolled up piece of canvas Aziraphale had long since forgotten what's on it. "...are Hastur, correct?"

Hastur nodded curtly.

"I will only ask you to leave once," said Aziraphale coldly after the last customer had left.

Hastur harrumphed, burying his hands in his coat.

"Won't do," he said equally cold. "One of you wankers got stuff mixed up up here, an' Mr Slick's naturally too full o' himself to do somethin' 'bout it. So it's up to me to get this fixed."

Aziraphale cocked his head, now a little curious.

"How do you mean? And who's 'Mr Slick'?"

"Can't tell you the second," said Hastur and retrieved a folder from his bag, holding it out. "But this' about the first thing. Someone screwed up Purgatory stuff, now no one has any idea where those souls are ought t' go. Can't have that what with Armageddon coming."

Aziraphale quirked a brow, shifting slightly into a fighting stance.

"And you come here... why?"

"Them are all authors. And you gots books. And stuff in yer head."

Well, Crowley had said that Hastur wasn't necessarily bright, but pragmatic.

"Would've send Ligur," Hastur continued, still holding the file out, "I mean, y'know'im already. But he's busy elsewhere. Can't give you details."

"Of... course," said Aziraphale, finally taking the folder.

"He's how I know you got the books and stories I need."

Aziraphale glowered. "What do you mean, 'need'?"

"Not gonna take'm. Jus' need t'see if them buggers wrote and done anything t' get Hell' hand' on'em."

"I...see. What makes you believe I'd help you?"

"Y'owe Ligur one, remember? He said to remind you of that."

With a soft frown Aziraphale leafed through the ratty file.

"Fine, fine," he grumbled. True, he did owe the other demon one from over a hundred years ago.

Hastur, meanwhile craned his neck, sniffing.

"Huh," said he.

"Pardon?"

"Something smells... odd."

"Might be you. You reek of burned, rotting flesh."

"Comes from taking a million lightyear nosedive into burning sulphur." Hastur shrugged and Aziraphale winced briefly.

"I'm sorry to hear," said the angel almost on autopilot. Hastur gave him a surprised look.

"Lilith's tits. Yer the first angel who says something like that," he said, blinking slowly before tilting his head back. "Well, Ligur said yer not as obnoxious as other angels."

"I'll be taking that as a compliment."

"Ligur said you prolly met some o'them. Them writers, I mean. So you prolly got stories to tell."

"What exactly do you expect me to do?"

Hastur shrugged dramatically.

"What I said: Lemme go through the books. See if they wrote anything that sends them either way, and maybe tell a few stories to weight in on that question."

"You do know this might end with me saving some souls?"

Again Hastur just shrugged.

"Doubt it. But Hell wants this done as quickly as possible, take a guess why."

Aziraphale sighed. Well, Brother Francis had he next day off anyway, and so far Hastur had been more civil than any of Crowley's stories would have led him to believe. Then again, Crowley had also painted an incorrect picture of Ligur.

"Well, I must inform you that it is my duty to try and save as many souls as possible," he said, waving Hastur to follow him into the back room.

"Yer on." Hastur grinned, taking off his grubby coat.

Once more Aziraphale sighed.

"This might take a while, though. Do you drink cocoa?"

"Only tried cigs and booze. Liked those. But I heard good things 'bout that."

"Well, kindly do wash your hands then. I'll be with you again in a moment."

Yo! Just wanted to send ❤️ because it seems like you've had a stressful time of it since your last chapter. I think Quinn's reaction and choices are reasonable and understandable. They are in fact, very in line with what I felt as a player my first time through. I had a choice and made it the one that would preserve those I cared about. Anyway, my point is, you rock and your story is fucking epic. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. ;)

Bunnies :3

Put a word inside my inbox and I’ll tell you a fact about myself based off that word.

I’ve had two bunnies as pets!

So, baby bunnies are hard to sex.  When I was a young kid, my parents took me out to pick out a baby bunny to have for a pet.  I fell in love with a baby dutch that was a blue coloring...the only blue one of the litter.  The breeder informed me that the bunny was a girl and so I named the bunny Princess.

Princess turned out to be a boy, but by the time he grew up and we realized this...he actually responded to the name Princess and I felt weird just changing his name like that.

So, yeah.  As a kid I had a pet boy bunny Princess.  There was also the bunny Cinnamon, but that isn’t as amusing as Princess.  (Cinnamon was a brown bunny for the most part and he had a black line across his face.  Had my parents allowed me named him, it would have been Scarface.)
