wip intro: aptitude

          Her hands are covered in blood.

          The right hand twitches slightly, a reminder of an old injury, but she quickly stills the tremor and focusses on the task in front of her. One finger presses against the hilt of the scalpel, gently guiding it downwards until it hits its mark. The reward is a red bubble that spills over the tip of the scalpel and dribbles down onto the table. She sighs, content, and relaxes her grip.

          “Rosie?”

sentence summary:

After her brother is seemingly killed in an accident at a government research facility, a high school student enlists the help of her friends to uncover the truth.

brief synopsis:

Two months shy of graduating, Final Year student Rosie Bennett has her future planned out: she’s going to join the Safety and Procedural Taskforce and help keep her city safe. It’s been her goal since she was fourteen, and nothing can deter her... except perhaps for a disaster at SAP headquarters that claims the lives of seven employees, including her brother. As mysteries being to mount and unanswered questions arise, Rosie becomes more and more certain that there’s more to the “accident” than there seems to be - and that if her gut instinct proves to be correct, there’s a very good chance her brother isn’t really dead. With the help of her best friend Paris and Penultimate Students Cherry, Rayna, Tim, and Cel, they investigate the mystery - but they may not like the answers they find.

Meanwhile, SAP officer Jeremiah is still reeling from the aftermath of the incident when he’s called to engage in his first ever field mission. Against his better judgement he accepts, but quickly finds that he may be missing vital information. His path takes him towards Telluria High, intersecting with the investigation of Rosie and her friends, and together they just might be able to get to the bottom of things - but will it be worth the cost? How far are they willing to go to expose the truth? What really happened that day, and why is SAP going to such great lengths to cover it up?
