Hey Liz! Please could you write bellarke with the song fallingforyou by the 1975? Thank you my dear ❤️❤️
anything for you, isla! i hope you love it <3
Falling in love, it turns out, isn’t always graceful.
Sometimes, it’s in the middle of a crowded concert venue, rubbing up against sweaty bodies and yelling into the abyss. Sometimes, it’s watching your best friend throw her head back and laugh with the vibrations of the music.
Something stirs in his chest and it feels a lot like waking up. It stretches within his rib cage, thrumming in his veins and all at once it hits him.
Clarke has her eyes closed next to him, swaying to the rhythm of the song being played. The technicolor lights dance across her cheek, coloring the long golden curls shades of purples and reds and blues. She looks so happy, lifting her hands in the air and taking in the lyrics as they play.
On this night, and in this lightI think I’m falling (I think I’m falling), I’m falling for you.
He’s stopped moving, watching her in a mix of awe and embarrassment, because of course he’s in love with Clarke Griffin. How could he not be? She’s his best friend, but more than that, she’s his person. The person who’s been in every significant moment in his most recent memories. The person who helped him study for his history final until six in the morning, who brought him coffee to work, and who once held him as he broke in half without a single ounce of judgement. The person who is a walking work of art, beautiful and unique and perfect all the same.
When the smoke is in your eyes, you look so aliveDo you fancy sitting down with me? Maybe‘Cause you’re all I need.
She’s watching him now, blinking in rapid confusion at his stillness as his favorite song continues to play. She raises an eyebrow in question but he continues to stare, eyes searching her own trying to find some semblance of sanity in them. He’s lost and he hardly thinks as he reaches out for her, his fingers finding the familiar heat of her cheek. His thumb strokes gently and she leans into it instinctively, but she still seems confused. They’re no strangers to touch, but he knows she can feel the difference here. He does his best to give her a reassuring smile.
I don’t want to be your friendI want to kiss your neck
And he watches the light bulb go off, her eyes widening as the lyric matches the gentleness with which he strokes her face. He worries, just briefly, that she might just run because he’s watched her heart break over and over and he knows she still feels fragile even if she pretends she’s stronger than that. But then he feels her arms thread around his neck as she steps closer and she’s smiling, almost reaching from ear to ear and he’s smiling, too. His chest roars to life.
On this night, and in this lightI think I’m falling (I think I’m falling), I’m falling for you
The moment their lips touch, the world grows silent and the crowd disappears. All the pieces fall together, and he hadn’t even known they were apart before. When they pull back, chests heaving and breath mingling, he lays a gentle kiss to her cheek and he’s no longer afraid. The world is at their feet.
“I love you,” he tells her as the last note plays, brushing his lips against her cheek.
He feels her nails scrape against his neck as she nudges his nose with her own, happiness radiating from every inch of her smile, “I love you, too.”
send me a song and a pairing, i’ll write you a fic
