Hello and welcome to yet another week kicked off with a Musical Monday. This week's 1983 highlight is a show I have never seen, have heard a little bit from, and am excited to feature in the blog. Though it didn't take home the Best Musical, it's place in Broadway history is tiny but firm. Here we go!

Broadway Run: June 2, 1982 - July 18, 1982

Awards Won: None

Other: Blues in the Night was the final Broadway show to play the Rialto Theater.

Fun Fact: The cast featured Leslie Uggams, Debbie Shapiro, Charles Coleman as the Saloon Singer (who also Conducted), and Jean Du Shon.

Yes, only 53 performances long on Broadway, with the Best Musical nominee being its sole nod. Next week we'll dive into learning about another 1983 Best Musical loser, but one that had a little more success than Blues in the Night. Until then, please go see a show!
