“Who’s that guy?” “Face looks familiar” “Nice boots” Growing up with Kenner Star Wars figures and without the Internet, the only more or less reliable source for knowing which figures existed in the Kenner line and would be available, were the cardbacks backsides of each figure, or sometimes the small catalog booklets that were put into the boxes for vehicles, etc. However even the cardback backsides weren’t always reliable, as there were at least two odd incidents: 4-LOM missing on the 47-back and Yak Face missing on the 92-back, the final cardback backside. The thought about the possible existence of figures which are not shown on the backside always excited me and were probably one of the few reasons for me as a kid to not find sleep. Somehow I always sensed that there were other figures beyond my reach and vision. Decades later, with having left the hobby of figure collecting long behind, driven by the sudden random urge to find out whether Yak Face was indeed the last Kenner Star Wars figure ever produced as I believed all through my teenage and young adult years, I finally sat down and asked the internet about it. It must have been around 2005 when I discovered the @rebelscum website and its photo archive, from which I finally learned that I was right about Yak Face being the last one all along—and learned about a new figure I never knew! Blue Snaggletooth! Strange enough, the figure seemed remotely familiar to me, as if I had seen it somewhere in an early ad. I don’t even know if that could have been possible but that’s how I felt about that figure. Of course blue snag is one of those pieces of plastic that usually goes for three to four digit figures and that’s not what I am willing to pay, so I am very happy that I finally got hold of one via other means.
