No matter how often he traveled, Judai Yuki could never get tired of a view like this.

The stars were shining as bright as ever in the dark sky, and the sparkle of each shining light brought the midnight blue canvas above him to life. Even though the cold breeze of the mountains of Gifu made him shiver a little, the beauty of the small campfire before him was enough to keep him satisfied.

It also helped a lot when the one sitting beside him just so happened to have a really comfortable shoulder that he could rest his head against.

“Judai?” The gentle whisper of his companion’s voice beside him quickly caught the backpacker’s attention and curious brown eyes met deep ocean blue for a moment as Judai lifted his head up slightly to get a better look at him.

“Yeah, Yusei?”

“…Why me?”

Well… that was a rather vague question. Judai’s brows furrowed in confusion as he shifted his gaze back to the marshmallow he was roasting away in the gentle flames of their little campfire, only pulling it away from the heat when he felt it was cooked enough. Hey – he hadn’t managed to burn it completely! Score!

“I don’t get it,” Judai confessed with a light shrug, bringing his marshmallow close to his mouth and giving it a few blows to cool it down enough to eat. “Why you what?”

Yusei let out a quiet hum at that, and Judai didn’t pressure him further to speak up. That was what had always made their journeys so relaxing and comfortable – they never made the other feel uncomfortable. And for Yusei? He adored the fact that Judai just… understood him; he never felt the need to force himself to speak up. Judai was just as happy with the silence as Yusei was.

“There were a lot of people you could bring with you to this, but you showed up at my doorstep. I just want to know why,” Yusei finally explained, bringing his own marshmallow out of the fire so it wouldn’t get burned as he waited for Judai’s answer. Yet as gently lit as their campsite for the night was, it wasn’t dark enough to hide the light pink blush on Judai’s cheeks as he practically shoved his marshmallow into his mouth. He tried to speak up, but thank to the hot food in his mouth, Judai didn’t stand a chance of saying anything legible, so instead the two sat there in silence for a moment, giving Judai the chance to put his answer together and swallow his food.

“I guess I do owe ya a bit of an explanation, huh?” Judai chuckled lightly, rubbing the back of his head before grabbing his water bottle. “Well… I’ve traveled the world a lot on my own. I’m always doing it and I love it. Seeing new sights and experience so many new things is a huge thrill for me.” The shorter adventurer took a moment to sip some of his water, letting out a satisfied sigh once he had finished from the refreshed feeling of it washing the marshmallow down.

“But if I’m being honest,” he continued, his smile falling slightly, “it gets kinda lonely by yourself. The adventures are fun, but… I never really get the chance to share it with anyone. I didn’t wanna go on my own this time ‘round.” Chocolate brown eyes met dark blue once again and Yusei couldn’t help but silently nod to let Judai know it was okay to continue.

“And… I dunno. When I thought about who I should take, you were the first person that popped into my head. I wanted to do this with you – no one else.”

Yusei could have sworn he heard his heart flutter at that, but he didn’t say anything beyond another soft hum. Instead, he gave Judai one of his small and special smiles as he finally decided to eat his own marshmallow.

“And okay, so I might have gotten us in trouble a few times,” Judai joked quietly which got a few good chuckles out of his adventure partner. They both knew that “a few” was a complete understatement. “But I mean… it wasn’t all bad, right? I’d say a few unforgettable good things came out of our fun…!”

Now it was Yusei’s turn to blush a little bit, but his small smile never left his face, and as Yusei swallowed his own food and licked his lips to make sure there was nothing sticking to them, he leaned over and slowly stole Judai’s lips for himself. The kiss was quick, but gentle – one that Judai eagerly melted into as his fluttered to a close as the kiss sent a comforting wave of heat through the two of them. After all, who needed a fire when you had burning chemistry?

And as Yusei pulled away from the kiss and rested his forehead against Judai’s own, he couldn’t stop his smile from widening as their fingers gently laced together just as their hearts had done many times before.

“Yeah,” Yusei whispered softly, earning a light hum from his boyfriend as Judai curled up against his chest. “This adventure will be one I’ll never forget.”

“Aww thank you,” She happily accepts the hug, giving her friend a light smile. “I’m grateful for what I was given, but I do wish I had more time.”

I don’t think it’ll work that way. Disney never got Sonic’s rights as a movie franchise, just the right to /use/ him. Therefore, it’s still happening. otherwise, Disney would be doing the Sonic movie.

oh, okay! i thought it was something like the whole x-men sitch when it came to sonic's movie rights..

Actually, ages ago, one of the lead people on the movie said that if there was a sequel, Sonic would actually get a supporting role rather than a cameo. So.

yeeeeah but i think that was before the sony movie was announced? i thought sega had sold the franchise movie rights to them and as a result, disney isn't able to use him anymore?
