Cologne based four piece Xul Zolar are here to drop your jaws with a sensational new offering named Soft Drones. Darkwavey alt pop fuses with a wall of purring indie electro as Xul Zolar carries us away with their multi-faceted and ecclectic genre bender, a percussive clattering, lavish swelling sojourn replete with icy synths and funk guitars. Illustrious New Zealand singer and songwriter Gin Wigmore is deep in the midst of her GIRLGANG project, which features new music and original art pieces by five guest female artists inspired by the five tracks from her forthcoming fourth album. She last teamed up with tattoo artist Briana Sargent to give us Hallow Fate. Now, she’s partnered up with NYC cartoonist Liana Finck on Beatnik Trip. Liana has created a whimsical lyric video to accompany Gin Wigmore’s whiskey drenched, foxy soulful pop dazzler. Beatnik Trip’s vintage charm and Gin Wigmore’s exceptional crooning evokes early Cults, ravishing MEG MAC, and the late, great Amy Winehouse, with a bit of Danger Mouse’s bluesy funk. Gin Wigmore will continue releasing songs and art pieces off of her GIRLGANG project over the next several months, culminating in a final event showcasing each collabloration with a viewing party and live performance.
