So, after completing the super-special birthday art for my brother, I wanted to try my hand at some more realistic recreation. I asked a certain @bluethisisforyou if I could snag a selfie they'd posted semi-recently to practice with with the intent of, of course, broadcasting the finished product and was given their blessing!

So thanks a lot, dear! I hope the finished product does you justice!

As a reminder, I'm currently trying to get into the commission game but have no idea how to do it. If anyone has knowledge of this (I've already tried to ask a couple popular artists i follow and never heard back), please message me. I know times are tough, they certainly are for ME too, which is why I'd like to earn a little extra income during COVID to pay towards bills and debts and etc.

i’m assuming this means like musicians!!! okay so right now some of my big faves are

rav and kill bill: the rapper - two rappers who do a lot of collab stuff but are both Very Good on their own!! rav’s vestiges and bill’s RAMONA albums are definitely worth checking out. they also have a let’s play/podcast channel called chibichubby!! sweet boys w lotta talent

the frights - a punk/do-wop?/surf rock band i recently got super into. i’m seeing them open for my favorite band in november! i’d recommend the songs over it, crust bucket, or all i need!

planet booty - electro-funk group from california i’ve had the pleasure of seeing twice now and they’re genuinely some of the nicest and coolest people i’ve ever gotten to meet. i like the old success ep, but they just had one come out in june called guilty pleasure that is also Real Good!

matt and kim - indie duo that’s been around for a while but. fun to sing along to. they’re also funny as fuck and really sweet!! they’re a couple from brooklyn and like... when i say goals i rlly mean goals??? they also have a fun vlog series called matt and kim show you stuff and a podcast called the matt and kim podcast and i feel like nobody ever appreciates them properly so... even if their music isn’t ur jam i’d check out their other stuff!!!!!

pulitzer--tell about/link a piece where you felt your writing was the best

Oh goodness, really hitting me with the hard questions now, aren’t we? Of course there’s Salty Kisses, but I share that with Dani. For my own pieces, I think....honestly, at the moment, I’m really really proud of my Klance Road Trip AU, we could turn the world to gold. I think it’s showcasing how much I’ve matured as an author. I’ve still got far to go, but I really think I’m embracing my style in this one.

backstory--how did you come to love writing?

I’ve always loved reading, even before I could read, and I just love stories in any form--movies, books, podcasts, you name it. I think I’m still trying to find my love of writing, but I love creating, and I love picking apart how to tell a good story. 

houghton--what’s something you love that people compliment your pieces on?

Again with the hard-hitting questions, my god. Lately, I’ve been really excited about my dialogue, specifically with my style, and people seem to be responding to it, which is, of course, amazing.
