DESCRIPTION: Cool mid-century styling featuring orthogonal cross hatch grill in contrasting taupe! Someone in the 50's really went to town with a slide rule to accomplish all the angles and facets in this grill design! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1950's excellent working condition. Cabinet is original glossy black. The front taupe grill is in excellent condition. Front RCA Victor logo applique is in place. No cracks, chips, splits, or repairs anywhere on top, sides, or front! Knobs are original and securely attached. There is a small white scratch on the back top corner, very faint. This radio features a dual 4" speakers so it sounds great! This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. DESCRIPTION: These urea plastic clock radios from Motorola in the late fifties are sought after for their unique Jetsons type styling. This particular model is very recognizable. No chips or major scratches! Two heat cracks on the top, back top left corner which is fairly common with this model. Original factory molded color. Not repainted touched up or oversprayed. The clock is quiet on this one too. No humming, buzzing, or cranking sounds. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1957 excellent A+ working condition. DESCRIPTION: Rare and very desirable. Yeah. AM FM. I think this is the last hurrah of the tube era from the venerable but somewhat geeky Arvin company. Because, after this model you don't see many tubes. Aesthetically, this design seems reminiscent of the fifties to me. So, the benefit of FM for listening purposes with aesthetics and decor appeal of fifties, and Bluetooth MP3 upgrade, makes this particular radio multi-generational, don't you think? In other words, there something about it to appeal to you, your dad, and your grandfather! Ha Ha Ha. The story between Farnsworth and RCA Sarnoff is an interesting tale in 20th century corporate history. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Farnsworth in 1947 still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial lights up brightly. The knobs are matching ivory plastic securely attached. No cracks, chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! Original factory ivory paint over brown bakelite. The paint is in remarkable smooth shiny condition considering its age. Usually there's more paint loss, scratches, chips, or discoloration. This radio only has minor paint loss, a few flea bites, and minor scratches. Not repainted no touch ups, no overspray. The factory original black grill is molded black plastic not painted. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Strangely, the shortwave switch is located next to the tuning knob inside the radio. The only way to get to it is by removing the chassis from the cabinet! I was not able to pick up any shortwave stations. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is original with very little hazing or yellowing and no cracks. The glass tuning dial plate underneath is clear not cracked. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact.
