International Affairs: Part 1 • College Rivals AU (Set)(Series)

Oxford University is host to one of the most competitive international fellowship programs for undergraduate students in the world. Awardees spend the second semester of their junior year studying and learning about other cultures in Oxford’s hallowed halls. 

This year, the campus is abuzz because there is an actual princess in their midst. Diana, Princess of Themyscira — a reclusive, matriarchial nation in the distant Mediterranian — has never been away from home before. The linguistics and classics major is determined to learn everything she can about the cultures and societies of the modern day, while also paying tribute to the classics that underpin Western democracy. More often than not, Diana can be found at the library. Students across campus know they can come to her there for study groups or just to unload their stress.

In the classroom, Diana’s outspoken optimism for the future of international peace is a sore spot for Steve Trevor. As a cadet at the American Air Force Academy, the international relations and economics major thinks platitudes are the last thing that will stop him from having to go to war. He has no doubt Diana will be a brilliant, inspirational leader, but he can’t help but push back on her naive convictions. She finds it exasperating to be lectured by someone who spends most of his time at the pub.

Their intersecting interests mean they have essentially the same course load — and the sparing matches they have in class become the stuff of campus legend. As frustrated as they get with each other, the real galling thing for both of them is that they always huff off knowing the other has made valid points. Not that they’d ever admit it to each other.

International Affairs: Part 2 • College Rivals AU (Set)(Series)

Diana and Steve end up working on a class project together, despite their classroom rivalry — or, more accurately, because of it. Both want to write about the impact of WWI on modern conceptions of war and peace and neither will back down to let the other have it. At least on the rugby pitch they are on opposite sides and can work out the stress of their incompatible working styles. The fact that this is touch rugby and yet, somehow, these two are prone more to lingering tackles leads to a lot of (very implausible) denial.

But denial only gets them so far. Oxford, from their point of view, is a romantically-charged hellscape full of sexy past times like archery and impossible-to-resist scenic boat rides. But it’s the library where their repressed feelings finally overcome them. Their first kiss happens in the stacks — right after a fight where they are arguing about how great the other is. Without them really knowing it, the long hours they’ve put in together have made them realize that, actually, their perspectives are not so incompatible. The simple truth they finally have to admit to themselves is that they make each other better. Once they admit that, the flood gates open. They become each other’s most vocal cheerleaders and best friends, giving the whole campus whiplash.

When the spring holidays come around, Steve and Diana set out to explore Europe on rail — with the Princess’s Amazonian security detail never far behind. Steve starts to think maybe the reason he never wanted to get to close to Diana was because he knew he’d fall in love with her and he knew she’d break his heart. What’s a European princess going to do with an Oklahoma boy in the long-run? Diana is much more present-thinking. She exudes love and infuses their every moment together with a sense of wonder. They stretch out their time to the end of the summer, but, inevitably, the program has to end. 

Both are devestated, wishing they had more time. They return to their respective universities. Steve is certain she’s going to wake up one morning and forget about him, but Diana never does. He tries to break up with her, but she fights for their happiness. They finish out their senior years, growing closer by the day no matter the distance. Upon graduation, they are both accepted into Master’s programs at Oxford — intending to spend the rest of their lives provoking and supporting each other into being their best selves.

Office Romance — WonderTrev AU (Series)

Themyscira, SA is a luxury goods holding company founded by reclusive haute couture queen Lyta Prince. The CEO of Themyscira is Diana Prince, an extraordinary business mind who puts her money where her mouth is when it comes to corporate sustainability and nonprofit partnerships. Under Diana’s capable leadership, Themyscira gains a reputation for acquiring quality fashion brands and shaking up their corporate cultures so much so that women almost exclusively rise to the top.

The newest addition to the Themyscira portfolio is Argus, an international luxury watch brand headquartered in London. For years, Vice President of Sales Steve Trevor has enjoyed a skyrocketing career path that has taken him from designer to creative director to executive. When his colleague Etta Candy becomes the first woman executive in the company’s history, Steve has to come to terms with the idea that his promotions might not have been based solely on merit.

With most of the good old boy executives jumping ship, Diana becomes intrigued by the lone holdout. Rich, handsome, snake-tongued Steve Trevor should be the epitome of everything she hates about corporate culture. But his loyalty to the company and to his friends win her over. For his part, Steve immediately sees why the business world calls Diana Wonder Woman. He’s head over heals in no time, nurturing a secret hope that Diana’s lingering glances mean more. 

There’s only one problem with their burgeoning love affair — for all intents and purposes, Diana is Steve’s boss. With rumblings among the staff about the organizational redesign growing, Diana cannot afford a scandal. As hard as they try, Diana and Steve can’t deny the intensity of their attraction. The boss-subordinate dynamic becomes a large part of their private relationship to the deep satisfaction of both.

When their office romance becomes public knowledge, they support each other through the scandal. Along the way, Steve has helped Diana gain valuable allies. The acquisition becomes more like a merger, and Argus becomes the crown jewel holding of Themyscira. To celebrate, Diana reveals the trust she has in Steve by taking him to the uber private Mediterranean island the company was named for.

Star Trek — WonderTrev AU (Series)

Star Date 2265. Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta, protector of mankind lives to see humans evolve beyond war. Born a goddess more than 4,500 years ago, Diana did her part to rid the Earth of invasion during an age when they were most vulnerable. Now she travels to distant galaxies to live among peoples who are stranger to her than man was the first time she sailed to their shores. Some humble her with advanced understandings of peace. Others cling to war, so she must carry sword and shield.

The gods lead her to an unoccupied planet so alike Themyscira she aches. There, she establishes a society of New Amazons. Women-spirited lifeforms from all corners of the universe make their home there. They elect their queens, they study ancient texts, and they fight in the style of the greatest general the Amazons have ever known. Diana is their reveared goddess of truth. She is beloved, but she is held apart. 

The Federation finds Themyscira by accident. A Klingon warship shoots down a pod ejected from the starship Enterprise. Diana rescues the lone figure inside. When she sees him, a thousand years fall away. Captain Steven Rockwell Trevor returns to her as Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Steve. Jim. Instead of a book of poisons, he has a powerful crystal he must deliver before war sweeps the Federation. The differences mean little.

She knows those blue, blue eyes. Brash, honorable, self-sacrificing — he is her heart made whole again. He calls her home Paradise Planet and approaches its glowing waters with a boyish fascination. On the beach, he remindes her how to sway. Yet, even with a holo as proof, he finds it difficult to believe in reincarnation. He tells her it doesn’t matter if he can’t remember — he believes in her.

With him at her side, she leads his crew and the Amazons into battle. Ares is alive again in the body of a Klingon general. Diana almost loses her love again, but Ares’ stolen lightning hits the crystal first, giving Jim back his life as Steve. Together, they defeat the god of war for a second time. The Amazons invite their enemies to Themyscira, where they reform the war-minded. 

Diana accepts an invitation to board the Enterprise and makes a home for herself in the arms of her captain out among the stars.

American Gods — WonderTrev AU (Series)

In shrouded, sinful Las Vegas, the Greek gods have established a modern day Olympus for themselves. Diana Prince, daughter of Zeus and the Queen of the Amazons, lives out her immortal life protecting the vulnerable from exploitation by the gods. Diana is troubled by a rash of ritual sacrifices and returns to Vegas to put an end to them. There, she meets Steve Trevor, an undercover FBI agent investigating the murders as part of a larger case involving a hallucinogenic drug that incites violence and worship.

Diana, getting nowhere with her the prickly extended family, realizes she needs to adopt a mortal approach to finding out who is behind the sacrifices. Dragging the doggedly clever, suprisingly sweet Oklahoma cowboy into her mission is a necessary evil. Drawn to Diana and determined to stop the killings, Steve forces himself to come to terms with a world of gods and monsters. 

In the course of the investigation, Steve and Diana grow closer. For Diana, who has lived in exile in America for as long as she can remember, forging a connection with Steve, a mortal, grounds her, and she begins to reclaim agency over herself. For Steve, Diana is an inspiration to do right by the world he thought he’d lost in his years toiling in a corrupt and broken system. 

After a string of disconcerting and dangerous meetings with various Vegas-based gods — all of whom are stronger and more out of control thanks to the sacrifices — Diana and Steve at last uncover the truth. The god behind the sacrifices is Ares, long thought dead. He has been posing as a mortal, an interpol agent Steve and Diana admired. His plan was to reawaken the American cypher-gods’ desire to rule over the petty human race. But Diana and Steve are there to stop him.

The Cult of Ares: Act I • Winter Soldier AU (Set)

Before the Justice League unite to face Steppenwolf, Diana taps Bruce for help investigating a rash of chemical weapons strikes. They discover who is responsible — a transnational paramilitary force working in the shadows for decades to sow the seeds of WWIII. In the presence of Athena, Diana realizes that her old nemesis, Ares, is responsible.

Diana becomes obsessed with the Cult of Ares. So much so that she begins to have prophetic dreams about them. The night terrors drive her to the brink of paranoia. She is certain that Ares has been resurrected and is leading the Cult to some sort of doomsday attack.

When a top secret transfer of chemical weapons for disposal is interrupted by the Cult of Ares, Diana and Bruce suit up to stop them from stealing the weapons. But the Cult releases a highly toxic gas, forcing Bruce to save the civilians at the expense of the weapons. Diana goes after the leader — who she believes is Ares — only to recognize through a gas mask a pair of unforgettable blue eyes. Bruce’s research confirms it. The leader of the Cult of Ares is none other than Steven Rockwell Trevor, the love Diana lost a century ago.

The Cult of Ares: Act IV • Winter Soldier AU (Set)

With Diana’s support, Steve is able to infiltrate a lesser branch of the Cult of Ares pretending to still be the Vessel. He discovers where the chemicals have been moved to and the plan to recreate the terrible doomsday scenario he and Diana thwarted exactly 100 years before. With Amanda Waller and ARGUS as backup, Steve and Diana manage to foil the plot once again. 

But Ares isn’t finished yet. The Cult convenes to resurrect Ares again — this time as a terrible, monsterous Titan. While Steve takes on the Cult, Diana unleashes hell to stop Ares. Inspiration from Athena tells Diana that the ritual that the Cult used to resurrect Ares in this form is a few words away from being a ritual to bind him to Tartarus as Zeus once did the Titans. Diana binds Ares to the deepest of underworlds, and the razed grounds of her nightmares grow poppies, the symbol of peace after WWI.

Now on a mission for redemption, Steve works for ARGUS and supports Diana in any way he can. The two of them take it slow rekindling their romance, really taking the time to get to know each other. Afterall, there’s no rush. With Steve retaining his metahuman abilities, the lovestruck pair has an eternity’s worth of breakfasts ahead of them.

The Cult of Ares: Act II • Winter Soldier AU (Set)

The followers of the Cult of Ares believe their leader is Ares, god of war, made flesh. Decades before, their predecessors used occult rituals to resurrect a human vessel specially chosen by their god. Through medical experiments, cult members have transformed the Vessel into a metahuman befitting of a god. The question of why this vessel is often wondered but never asked — cult members find it strange that the vessel resists at times, making it necessary to put him on ice.

Diana knows why — making Steve the worst of humanity incarnate is Ares’ personal revenge. He flaunts that by targeting the city she loves. The evil of Ares corrupting such a heroic figure consumes her. Her love for Steve mutates into an unholy desire to save him by driving her sword through his blackened heart. Facing off against Diana has similarly affected the man who refers to himself only as the Vessel. Memories he never had access to bubble to the surface. Guilt and rage and despair and some unknowable emotion directed at the Goddess give him the strength to resist Ares’ whispers.

Diana and Bruce track the cult to an abandoned warehouse in a war-torn country. When they get there, they find that the cult members on guard have been killed by their own gas. The only survivor is their leader. Diana attacks, but to her extreme confusion “Ares” barely puts up a fight. All he wants to do is stay alive long enough to tell her where the chemicals have been taken. Diana, believing this to be a trick, prepares to avenge Steve by killing the Vessel. But she finds she cannot harm him. Amanda Waller shows up to offer ARGUS tactical support in exchange for custody over the Vessel.
