DC Comics Announces “The Other History of the DC Universe” Debut

DC Comics’ The Other History of the DC Universe, a five-issue miniseries that examines the DC Universe through the eyes of heroes of color, is set to debut on November 24, 2020, and release bimonthly. The miniseries hails from John Ridley and artists Giuseppe “Cammo” Camuncoli and Andrea Cucchi, and colorist José Villarrubia.

The Other History of the DC Universe "centers around the perspectives of Jefferson Pierce, a.k.a. Black Lightning; his daughter Anissa, also known as Thunder; Mal Duncan (Herald) and his wife, Karen Beecher (Bumblebee); Renee Montoya (the Question); and Tatsu Yamashiro (Katana)” to reframe iconic moments from DC history. The Other History of the DC Universe will carry DC Comics’ Black Label and will have covers by Camuncoli (with Marco Mastrazzo) and Jamal Campbell.

Blake’s fingers are long and delicate, most calloused where they meet the softer palm. Her nails are clean and cut short, and Yang loses herself in the feeling of the smooth keratin sliding into skin and back to fingernails. Yang’s touch is light in the dark hut, and the night birds coo outside in tandem with Jaune’s snores. Her left fingers trace patterns on Blake’s hand, as delicate as Yang can be, following tendon lines down to the knuckles and once more all the way to the tip. "Can’t sleep?"
