Faces and bodies are wonderful things
The gift of a smile or a present of dancing language
Another pivotal piece in the soul’s arsenal
And the satisfaction that it brings rings true
Even so, beauty is seen by few
Though society scoffs in vain
They fade with the seasons and death recycles
But will they ever really change?
The rain continually drains the pain
And the instrument of life remains
But they die a lot more when they lie
And when God crafted your face
It was a monumental moment, mountains move
He gazed at His child with mercy and grace
Born beneath a provisional sky
Never fight the person set within you
But they are not puppet strings
And we may fade away ugly
But we will stunningly continue
Because when I think of love, I never stop
No Earth can take that away
Right and Wrong pull astray
Because water is worth every drop
They say angels are walking around us right now
Living, breathing, dying, flying, all just trying
To make sense of us as we entertain them
But they help us out, I don’t know how
I always doubt what’s real
Or is it something you feel?
Out of all I’ve been forced to hear and see
There are two that I refuse to believe
They go, “Nobody really cares”
And, “The best things in life are free”
If no one knows value, I still do
And someone beyond the cosmos
Remembers so much, it would surprise you
We earn it, but we don’t deserve it
So tell me, friends, what is beauty?
Come on, you’re beautiful – tell me
Some say, “Never say never” but they never
Said never to what the world wanted, ever
I don’t even know what they want anymore
I thought smoke blinded me
And I know one more thing
Life never ends! That’s why it’s so pretty
How could existence be so witty?
So when they ask you about beauty that fades
First question your perception of fleeting
Then scream them this news
With the most modest call
Temporary beauty isn’t beauty, at all.
