✓ - How do they react to praise?
it depends on what theyre praising him on... if someone praised him on being a good archer he’d just shrug and be like “yeah i know.”
with anything else the thing is he doesnt really EXPECT praise from anyone, so it really catches him off guard and hes like ???ok??? uh anyway??? and tries to move it along bc he doesnt know how to react to it
✕ - How do they handle rejection?
ok for non-romantic rejection: maedis doesnt really expect anything from anyone, so if hes rejected by someone he doesnt know like maybe they dont want to give him a job or whatever hes like ugh okay fine and just goes on. it doesnt hurt him too bad, he’s a pessimist so he goes into everyhting with bad expectations so he doesnt get disappointed
for ROMANTIC rejection (which doesnt happen really until rathys leaves him and even then like...was that really romance. maedis kinda saw it like that) that really fucking devastates him, more because he feels stupid for letting himself relax and think things were going to be okay rather than anything else . he’s not even mad at the person who rejected him, he’s mad at himself for trying
♔ - Do they value loyalty?
nope. maedis is a fucking snake , he never trusts anyone and he doesnt think anyone should trust him. what he values is people always looking out for themselves and being cautious about who they let themselves be around
