There it was. A new scent in the air, the delicious aroma of new blood. Oliver loved his regulars, but he loved newcomers more. Regulars came and went, but each new visitor was an excellent opportunity.
Intrigued, eager, the dragon-in-human-form slipped through the party. He snatched up a pair of drinks -- Champagne, the finest around -- off the bar and glided up toward the visitor. This one was quite good-looking and would make an excellent guest.
“Care for a drink?” Oliver offered the slipper of champagne and ran his tongue along his teeth. “I don’t think I’ve seen you before. What’s your name?”
