Winked Blynken and Nod
My first reaction to this one was, oh my, Peter Pan!! Three little boys sailing through the night sky in a wooden shoe, looks like a real ship braving the waves on a stormy night.
When Nod falls through the cloud, when they drag him back up he coughs up cloud. How Wynken accidentally catches himself with his line. Then how the starfish jumps into Nod’s onesie and drags him around until the other two catch Nod and NOT the starfish in the net. And finally how the starfish outsmart the boys and link Wynken and Nod’s lines together... Blynken’s onesie cracks open at the butt he’s trying so hard to save Nod.
And, then, when Nod get’s attacked by the shooting star... I may never think of shooting stars the same way after this year’s Oscar Nominated Animated Short Film, “World of Tomorrow.” If you haven’t seen it yet. Get ready.
But my personal favorite of all the gags in this one is when Nod comes out from under the pillow and the pillow takes the shape of a bicorne with a huge N on the front, like Napoleon.
