i’ve never done ship headcanons before, so let’s see how it goes!!

okay so

much like our dear jeremy, brooke has had a crush on christine for a while now

but she’s much too insecure to put herself out there again

not after she got cheated on last time

chloe is the one who takes the lead and decides she and brooke are signing up for the school musical

she pretends she just really loves fiddler on the roof, but it’s pretty obvious that she’s doing it so brooke will have a chance to talk to her crush

christine gets cast as tzeitel and brooke ends up getting cast as yente

brooke’s a lil upset that she has to play the old matchmaker until christine gushes over how good she’ll be

christine’s so passionate about the show, it’s easy for brooke to get swept up in it, too

especially when christine’s inviting people to run lines and practice dances in her basement on the weekends

brooke gets to know christine’s home very well during the two month rehearsal time

for a while, it’s christine, brooke, chloe, and jenna all hanging at christine’s on the weekends

then one friday at the end of rehearsal, chloe just goes “oh sorry jenna and i were going shoe shopping :// oh well, you two have fun!!”

jenna’s just like “uhh no we weren’t?” internally, but chloe glares sharply before she can even speak

brooke is glaring at chloe for a whole other reason

and little christine is just bummed that she can’t practice ‘matchmaker’ without chloe (who’s playing hodel)

so brooke and christine go back to christine’s house

they say hello to her dad on their way into the basement

(they always practice in the basement bc they can push the furniture aside to do the dance routines)

after a while, christine calls an end

“there’s not much else we can do on our own”

tragically, they’re not in a whole lot of scenes together

panicking a little (she doesn’t want this day to end!!) brooke offers to help christine run her lines

“you are so sweet, brooke!!”

christine practically has heart eyes

they end up laying side by side on the floor

christine’s on her back and brooke in on her tummy, christine’s script laying open in front of her

christine nails all of her lines, of course

no one is surprised at that

and brooke is too busy looking at the script to notice how christine looks up at her, her gaze all soft and gooey

it’s in that moment that christine decides she’s going to kiss brooke during the bows of their final performance

everyone likes a grand gesture, after all

quick bmc ship opinion post but the reason i love jeremy and michael as friends more and not as a romantic couple is bc i admire their dynamic as friends in the sense that they represent a really close and loving relationship even though they are not romantically involved...i think a lot of the time in media that close, loving relationships are always expressed as the characters having romantic feelings for each other, but for me i really feel it’s realistic to have that close/intimate of a bond with someone as your best friend(s). and as someone who has never actually been in a relationship before (lol) i find myself forming these kind of relationships with my closest friends and feeling a really initimate and loving connection with them that isn’t romantic in the slightest. but i can still genuinely say i love them and mean it, and be willing to do things and be there for them to show that. i think it’s a more complex and intricate kind of unconditional love that’s harder to pull off in media and in my own life, i find myself experiencing this feeling of love way more towards friends where i’m willing to “put my pants on for them” more often than having romantic feelings of love, and i really think jeremy and michael’s friendship was built really well in that aspect, which is why i find it more fitting imo because

when you love somebody

you put your pants on for them

somewhat reluctantly

still you gotta go

& it’s a classic study

of the things we do for our best friend

when you love somebody you put your pants on! ;)
