1. Angel

Angel nailed this photoshoot and cemented herself as one of my early favorites! She looks so glamorous and the “I’m fabulous and I know it” mood she’s giving is perfect. The sultry stare is teetering on the edge of being sleepy, but she held it together and her face is just divine (those cheekbones!). Her carefree pose is flawless, she has legs for days and I love the way she’s daintily propping up her head with her hand. Angel deserved more credit for this, it’s the most cover worthy shot of the week for me!

2. Emma

I adore how casual Emma is in this shot, she fully embodied the too cool for school vibe! There’s something sort of tomboyish about the seated pose that I love, and it worked surprisingly well for the dress. Her eyes might be flicked a bit too far to the side, but I love her angsty expression and she has an amazing jawline as well. It’s easy to see why Emma was the recipient of best photo at panel since her cover is something I could see from a working model, I just preferred one other picture a tiny bit more.

3. Sophie

Sophie was definitely one of the standouts in this first photoshoot! The demure pose is fantastic; her body language is reserved without being closed off, she angled her legs well to sell the pants, and I love how the jacket is draped over her shoulders. Her mouth could be a little less tense, but she looks lovely straight on and her eyes are quite alluring. Sophie proved right from the start that she would be one to watch!

4. Naomi

Naomi delivered an excellent fashion image. Her wonderfully relaxed pose made the shoes the emphasis of the shot, but she didn’t neglect selling the rest of the outfit in the process either. I like the ease in the way she tilted her head back to let her hair cascade, and while her eyes could be more focused she still appears effectively dreamy and ethereal. I see this more as part of a spread rather than a cover, but it’s a strong showing from Naomi nevertheless.

5. Lauren

The top 5 covers were a step above the rest. Lauren had a rock solid debut. I’m really impressed by how she didn’t lose her height at all despite being seated and having her legs bent directly at the camera, and she showcased the jumpsuit and shoes nicely (though her arms are too stiff). I like how she cocked her head to the side, but she needed to bring more life since she’s stunning but a little bored/zoned out. Lauren’s cover is very good, but her performance on set was head and shoulders above the rest and I know she had better shots.

6. Laura

Laura’s shot is a bit all over the place but thankfully it didn’t fall apart. The playful smirk is cute and there’s power in her eyes, but she should’ve lifted her chin a smidge higher. Other than the strange dangly claw hands her pose is pretty successful, she was able to showcase the outfit well and her moody slouched posture is great. While Laura’s shot isn’t anything too amazing, I do think it shows that she had a ton of potential.

7. Emily

Emily did a decent job of working the jacket and I like the somewhat bizarre way she folded her hands between her legs. She needed to commit to looking at or away from the camera since she’s sort of in the middle, but at least her face is gorgeous and she put some intensity behind her eyes. All in all it’s a pretty solid shot of Emily.

8. Sarah

I really like Sarah’s pose in this shot. The missing hand between her legs is a flaw, but the broken down slouch is on point without going overboard and I like the hand running through her hair too. The problem is her face; she’s definitely beautiful, but she’s just gazing weakly downward like she was scared of making eye contact. If Sarah had a better connection with the camera I’d bump her up a couple of spots.
