Would you mind if I asked how you see marxism/capitalism and how they might relate to science fiction?
So first of all, extremely sorry this took so long to respond to! (it’s been sitting in my drafts for ages).
Anyways, I don’t mind at all, but rather depends on just how you mean the question- Political allegories? Worldbuilding elements? Just general thematic underpinnings of the genre?
In the last case, I don’t think the genre has any real political valence-but then, I don’t think Science Fiction’s really very coherent as anything but a collection of aesthetics. Shelly was a Romantic, Wells a socialist, Heinlein a libertarian, Le Guin I believe is an anarchist, Pournelle I shudder to comprehend, etc. (A solid third of space opera seems to think we got things right with emperors, warrior aristocrats, and guilded labor, really.)
I mean, I’m generally in favor of socialist science fiction, of course-I mean, I grew up watching Star Trek, of course I am. And I’ve honestly always had something of a soft spot for for the interbellum/early postwar utopias. You know, the withering away of borders and empires, the use of intricate machines to free humanity from all the wretched labor required to maintain civilization, freeing all to live as intelligentsia or creatives or whatever they will, Liberté, égalité, et fraternité the world over, etc, etc. Certainly more appealing than most of the futures being sold these days, anyway.
So, ah, yeah-50/50 I’m misunderstanding your question entirely, in which case my apologies.

Video Game Assets
I know I haven’t posted in a while, but that’s because I’ve been hard at work teaching myself how to program video games! I don’t have anything quite ready yet, but I do want to share a low polly model I’ve been working on for one of my upcoming endeavours! This is a shuttle craft / cargo carrier I’m making as the player’s ship in the game. This is a low polly model of it, in the actual game you’ll probably never see it this close... sadly. As you can see, it’s inspired by the space shuttle quite a bit, the surface is made up of tiles and the back engine area closely resembles that of the famous orbiter. Anyway, lots of fun and lots of work! I had to figure out how to unwrap the UVs so everything would be in 1 shader...
This ship, as well as Earth, was modeled and rendered using Blender, I made the texture maps in photoshop.
hey the slightly NSFW posts are a new thing so are you willing to tone that down a little because i love your blog but youve been posting things a little more risque and it would be nice if youre willing to move that to another blog or something if not oh well
Hello, I can guarantee my level of smut/nsfw/bewb/neeple is rather consistent throughout my 4+ years on here. I don’t post pr0n, but do post the occasional randy tiddy latex butt shot, that aren’t explicit. Hate to see you leave but you can always use tumblr savior to block me on your work computer and peruse on home or mobile device.
Your call, but the answer is “my blog my rules”, sorry.
Inspired by this post. GG ship design ft. Soudeloure on the control panel. One side is for controlling rockets and steering, the other is for firing the laser band.
do you think she’ll ever fly again?
Prints of this piece are now available!
