Fall Semester 2013: In Retrospect
Part 2.
This was the second prototyping assignment for my Gameplay and Prototyping class. The project entailed designing a level around the combat system that I developed in the previous assignment. I came up with a basic maze-like level, the object of which was for the player to get from the starting point to the end while defeating random enemies along the way. For me this project was about getting a little deeper into Unity3D (which was not that deep, but baby steps!) and learning more about physics in Unity.
The level itself was not that inspired. I don't know that it added anything to or worked well with the weird aesthetic of my punching blob. If I were to do it again, I would use the system I came up with in a two player fighting game and organize the level around their combat. In any case, I'm glad that I once again worked alone on this project, as completing this assignment and the one before it definitely made me feel more confident in the class overall. Again thanks to friends who offered their invaluable advice.
