Excuse me Vin asked for no pickles - jak
I can’t remember the last time I drew Daxter. Hot damn, Crash Bandicoot comes back, Ratchet and Clank are coming back... ... Jak and Daxter man... used to eat sleep and breath this shit. NO exaggeration, lol! Bob Rafei, concept artist for Daxter, has influenced my style TO THIS DAY! 6th grade me would just keep a print out of his head expressions in my sketchbook and draw nothing but Daxter all the time!! And uh, Jak too on occasion XP So here’s to the best series made for the PS2!
“Travelers and Thieves” by Bob Rafei.
YALL I’M LOSING IT THIS IS TOO GOOD

* * * It took me more time than I expected (lack of desire to draw at the moment...), but I am happy with the final result! Paradoxically, it was quite difficult to find interesting clothes for Jak. I was strongly inspired by this concept art: www.bobrafei.com/galleries/jak… (I would have preferred these clothes in Jak II!) And he has a three-day beard! I also added a new weapon, inspired by Move Heroes vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/he…, because I find that there is a severe lack of a melee weapon and hand-to-hand combat in Jak's games.
When I was 14 I had set a goal. I had a dream to be as good an artist as Bob Rafei, who to this day is still my art idol.
12 years later I feel I have finally reached a comparable level of skill where I can put my art beside his and nod, thinking it's pretty damn close. I have my own style so I could never trul match him, but I don't want to. I am very happy with how far I've come in art.
Mine is the left, Bob Rafei's is the right.
