Which non-bio baby do you wish would be back? Or would you handle differently, if you had control of the entire DC universe and could shape it to your will?
I was thinking of the babies we lost when New 52 happened (or before). I think Lian would be the handy favorite there, but maybe others would give her a run for her money.
Then I started to think of just the adopted/foster babies. The ones that were not sidekicks. They mostly got screwed over before New 52 happened (well, the ones I can think of did). But still, here are a few. There are probably several I’m missing. Which would you like to get a second shot.
Apparently, Guardian (clone Jim Harper) had not one, but two foster/adopted daughters that got lost in the shuffle. Roberta “Bobby” Harper, who, as far as I can tell, just disappeared after a dozen appearances. I may try to read these. Secondly Gwen Harper, who was an opposite sex clone of clone-Jim
Sin Lance, adopted daughter of Dinah. Written out of story - sent to a boarding school (to keep her safe).
Chris Kent - Foster child to Lois and Clark (they claimed he was a relatives child). Sucked into Phantom Zone, tortured, speed-aged, escaped, speed-aged some more, fell in love, had his lover killed, sucked back into the Phantom Zone and de-aged, and started forgetting the woman he loved.
Rani - Adopted child of Michael Jon Carter (Booster Gold). A Daxamite from the 31st family who saw her family slaughtered.
I’d definitely want Sin and Chris back, if I could control how it was done. The thing about Rani is that I really don’t like that set up with Booster with Rip and I’m not sure I’d have Michelle in the present, either. I might play with using a earlier post-COIE version of Rip Hunter (who is so very different from the one in the second Booster Gold series), and have him adopt the child instead. I don’t know Bobby and Gwen. I’m not even sure about Guardian, because I kinda like the setup of Superman being the world’s first superhero, and that sort of writes the old Guardian out of existence. And frankly, the scientists being newsboys when they were young is really unlikely by now (newsboys, as they were depicted, faded very much after WWII, and that’s over 70 years ago now).
