But really : Throughout the movie, Bobby is shown to be attracted to both a man and a woman : his best friend Jonathan (who’s gay) and Clare, Jonathan’s roommate. He dates Clare for a while and they seem to be generally committed to each other. They live together with Jonathan and the three of them get along very well.
Bobby also shares a deeply emotional relationship with his best friend and the two of them were sexual with each other during their teenage years, which had to stop when Jonathan’s mother discovered them and Jonathan decided to go to college after high school. When they meet again as adults, Bobby and Jonathan kiss, dance and sleep in the same bed and their intimacy causes Clare to be jealous and leave them. It is worth noting that even though Bobby’s sexuality is never explicitly stated it is never demonized or shamed either. He is presented as an innocent, loving and caring person to those around him.
Bobbys is bi/pan.
