you’ll find something waiting, right there where you left it, lying upside down…
when you finally find it, you’ll see how its faded
the underside is lighter when you turn it around.

I can't get this out of my head.
And I KNOW it's been written about countless times.
But fuck.
You're 17. On the edge of your big break with your very best friends. Your family.
They go out for some pregig food. You stay back to flirt.
Next thing you know they're ALL FUCKING DEAD.
And you're making decisions with the venue and organizers and probably people want money back and Jesus Christ can't you just mourn but no.
You need to clean up and pack up and take everything home. And they're not there either.
And then, because you were teenagers with messy families, you get to watch these families plan funerals and memorials. But none of them are for the people you knew.
And nobody's checking in on you. Because you're not *actually* family. And life moves on. For seemingly everyone but you.
And then it moves on *for* you. Whether you're ready or not.

rewatched Stand Tall and got to thinking about how when Luke shows up on stage and starts singing with Julie the camera cuts sharply to Trevor and Carrie in the audience, who are both looking at former best friends, and one of them is freaking out and one of them is realizing she's been wrong about her former friend, and both of them are sitting there stunned and where is this thought going I don't know but boy is it interesting-
Thinking about if Netflix didn't cancel Julie and the Phantoms, we could have gotten some sweet moments between the boys and Carrie. A little niece and uncle moments. Like this is their bestfriend's daughter. Sure their relationship might be rocky, but they still have that connection. For them, the last time they saw young Bobby was just weeks ago, but for Bobby it was 25 years. The boys definitely still feel a connection towards him, they still love him.
can't stop thinking about bobby and its consuming all my thoughts haha (also depth perception is my worst enemy so hopefully this turned out alright)
