Friends are family that you choose. These two gents pictured with me are doing incredible work to make the world a better place and so proud to call them friends. @bobbysud is organizing @laanimalsave which is a charity that gives kindness & compassion to animals. Most of the work is done at Farmer John which is one of the largest pig slaughterhouses west of the Mississippi and is just south of downtown LA in Vernon. During the journey (most often from SW Utah), the six month old pigs are not given any food or water because they are going to be killed anyway and food and water costs money. The trucks are stopped on the street outside of Farmer John by the Vernon police and the LA Animal Save Vigil attendees are allowed to give the pigs water and kindness before they are taken inside the gates and their lives are taken away. If you have not been to a vigil, they take place every Sunday and Wednesday nights between 7pm and 9pm. It is a powerful show of kindness toward fellow earthlings to attend to say the least. @billglaser is the rockstar in the middle of the picture and in addition to being an amazing vegan muscleman, he is also the CEO of @outstandingfoods which makes the plant based Pig Out Bacon Chips made from mushrooms & created from the “culinary wizard” mind of the one and only @daveandersonchef 🌱 They are soon launching Pig Out Pork Rinds that are also made entirely out of plants and these bad boys are packed with protein.
