I don’t know why but unless I’m looking at a mirror or something my default perception of self is just like a more sophisticated FPS-style interface for an intangible point of viewing rather than an inhabited body with with a face etc. Like, as if I’m some consciousness with a viewport & some limbs for interacting with the world (limbs & body etc. positioned relative to the viewport which corresponds to my head).
It’s not really that I feel like my consciousness is remote/in an external location; I feel more like it’s not anywhere at all if anything but I often kind of feel like any of the parts of my body that aren’t in view could easily just not be being rendered atm; that just around the edges of my vision may as well be the fractured artifacts of incorrectly 3d scanning something.
Strangely enough this doesn’t bring up any questions of reality or object permanence for me and I’m totally aware that my body is always there & is what it is but it does definitely shape my relationship to my body and to being embodied quite considerably

i need to go to the doctor but its exam time and ive watched too much house in the past few days to not think that if i go to the doctors for meds and tests im gonna get admitted and die of like choking on a kidney growing in my brain or something and that's just gonna mess with my school schedule
