And besides, it's not as if Carver's all bad. He's been a nice enough fellow detective in this little mystery they were living in. He was a little pessimistic, but at least he was decisive. Eddie wasn't about to wave pom poms at a pep rally for Carver, but he was a lot there were worse people he could be in this situation with by a long shot.
And… there was an attraction there. Always had been. Not that he would ever let himself act on it, or even think about it before. It was just an unthought thought. One of those obvious things that wasn’t even worth saying out loud. Even as a beta, Carver was beautiful, untouchable.
And now that he was human and fragile, the attraction hadn’t gone away. In fact, it was getting harder to ignore.
