22 January 2019. Awoke shortly after Korean bunkmate woke me up when she left for her 7am bus. Thought I was gonna be up first taking the 8am bus 😂 turns out I'm not the earliest bird. Bid farewell to Charlie who couldn't stop calling me grandma and left for the bus station with a slightly heavy heart. I think I'll miss Pai. Concussed all the way on the bus I don't even know how lol. Arrived at Chiang Mai city groggy and sleepy and found my way to the hostel. And there again the cycle of confusion began because I didn't know what itinerary I could have. After being unable to sort things out and having my stomach growling I knew I had to find my way to a nearest cafe and swallow whatever was in sight. Gave the nimmanhaemin street cafes a miss cos they were a distance away I probably had to Grab, but I couldn't bear another 5 min of walking #bodyovermind y'know. Walked into a random cafe which had no actual food but only had sandwiches 😫 but beggars can't be choosers and I was close to begging so I went ahead and had a club sandwich and matcha latte and almost finished them all (if you know me that's not really my style lol so I was really hungry I lost my senses). After lunch I knew I had to decide the itinerary or end up wasting my last few days away, so being #ficklegirl_91 I changed my mind 6x before I settled on an itinerary which seemed like I was making the best use of my time here cos cafe-hopping sounded like a good idea, but exploring the outskirts sounded like a better one since I didn't have that much time to while away. Let's hope I manage 😬 oops. Then off I went temple-hopping. What I liked about the temples are that they have these (what I call) "trees of wisdom", where quotes are hanging off some of the branches of each tree. I feature one of my favourite. Stopped to smell the physical and metaphorical flowers along the road and outside a school (oh good times). And then it was time for night market. Didn't get why my map showed several locations for night markets but I got it, because there were 4 night markets along the walking street: Ploen Ruedee night market, Kalare night bazaar, Chiang Mai night bazaar, Anusarn market. #JiajialaiChiangMai https://www.instagram.com/thejiggsy/p/Bs8WoOWB8EISVAOWAEs69oF6KorzGuSb6I9-hw0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lmbekp5wa6d2
