I got one of my all time favorite pieces of fitness equipment today through a stroke of pure luck and swift action. A Glute-Ham Developer (or GHD) machine!!! These things cost $500+ new most times. I paid $150 from a family off FB Marketplace!! Gotta love those rich white folks that don’t know the actual value of the things they sell (Seriously, dude didn’t know it’s worth and just threw out a number).
Anyways couldn’t wait to get it home and use it. Todays workout E3MOM: 10 front squats @ 235lbs and 10 GHD sit-ups for ten rounds. Made sure to not overdo it and get rhabdo. Haven’t done GHDs in quite some time.
Now I can finally work on getting my actual core and abs back ( shut up @riandawfatherr because I know you’re gonna say something lol)
Squats should NOT hurt your back! - I see tons of personal trainers teaching squats incorrectly, being completely unaware of their clients pelvic position during the movement. I ve seen many doing butt winks. The Butt Wink describes the portion of the pelvis when it moves into Posterior Pelvic Position, Loading the lower spine (Lumber) into Spinal Flexion. This can put additional pressure on muscles that stabilise the spine and pelvis, such as your iliopsoas (inner hip muscle), and vertebra disks. There are a few causes of the Butt Wink. Poor Ankle Mobility, Poor Technique, Poor Core Stability Control Poor Hip Range of Movement . If you’re currently experiencing Lower Back Pain due to posterior tilt of the pelvis I would suggest the following: Assessing your ankle/calf mobility, Seek out a great trainer to fix your technique. Check your Core Stability by performing a BodyWeight Squat and a Squat holding a weight in front of you. If your squat with the weight are considerably better, you have an issue with engaging your core to stabilise the body in the squat. Today was hard! 5x2 front squats at 47.5kg Should have been 55kg but my legs and back were just not having it! I think my body is trying to get used to moving more after so many days of driving. . After was 12min AMRAP 100 DUs Then 2 rounds 12 Double DB Front Squat, 10kg each HSPU, where I went between 1 and 2 mats. I think I should stick with 1 mat and learn not to constantly readjust my hands when in a headstand. Completed 1 round and 45 reps. . Did really love that workout though. Also at the end just for fun I decided to try and get a triple under and managed it! . Today was the first time trying my leggings from @fiit_uk after buying them on Saturday. I love them so much! They are super comfy, high waisted and so soft.
