I always wanted to hide and cover my stretch marks, since I was a teenager I was told, stretch marks are disgusting and not beautiful. Well I want to change that, I want to make stretch marks beautiful because they show I have lived and grown in my body and I’m still here. My stretch marks show that I am human and I am still alive, they show that I’m not perfect but that’s what’s beautiful about them. They remind us that we don’t have to be perfect and live up to this expectation of being the perfect person with the perfect body. I used to look at my stretch marks in disgust but now I’m slowly growing to love them and see them for more than what I was taught to see them as. It’s okay to have stretch marks and all kinds of flaws that’s what’s makes us human and a unique individual, and to me that it is more beautiful than any kind of perfect!
