#Repost @thebodyisnotanapology ・・・ Your daily reminder that folks being discarded literally on the side of the road and under bridges and at street intersections, pleading with cardboard signs and living in tent cities (during a global pandemic, no less) and often struggling with untreated trauma, addiction, and severe mental illness — all of that is #BodyTerrorism and a collective abdication of what it means to care for each other on this planet as humans. Another way is possible and was REALITY prior to the white supremacist, settler colonial, cisheteronormative patriarchal takeover of North America and the subsequent capitalist exploitation of land, humans, and non-human animals alike. None of this is normal. Profits should never be our highest aim. #RadicalSelfLove requires a different ethic. We can be different. Written on the partition in white graffiti is the message, “NO ONE WAS HOMELESS ON THIS LAND BEFORE 1492”. The word “1492” is underlined.
