                  Without regard of who might have been around, Meredy exclaimed loudly, ❝ Are you kidding me–?!” She tossed down her empty bag, which looked like it was pulled out of a blender. Evidently, the young witch took no notice to her belongings spilling out during her latest tussle with some beasts she encountered. She released an exasperated exhale before dropping to the ground. Seated in the dirt, she began to tremble with frustration knowing that she was alone. Meredy was without any money or means of contacting her guild mates. She placed her hands on her battered legs. Only small cues of magical energy remained after depleting most of it for defense.

  wherever her agent had directed she go , this wasn’t it . shinjuku seemed too seedy , too far from the glitzy atmosphere she’d come from in ropponji , her agent’s office in the next district of marunochi . this was really nothing like okinawa or even casablanca in morocco , was it ? distantly , yuna gazed ahead as she waited for the light to change at the intersection , spying a cafe from afar she knew she could find refuge in . 

  after all , it was getting dark and the woman simply didn’t feel safe being out so late .
