I know she does not actually lose her fight but in every way she is a fictional loser woman. she's a poor little meow meow she's a research assistant she's the literal queen she fell for an elf trick out of spite. she is perfect. she fucks up her own baby's christening because she's traumatized by her name being magrat. sally and angua as a dynamic also fall into this category.

wrestler loser women are less fun because they're so clearly like. disempowered? by the company and the narrative? when a wrestler is a loser woman it's because she is butting up against a system that is hostile to her. whereas when a different fictional loser woman loses she's also kind of disempowered but she is losing because she's just Like that. less girlbossification more losergirlification

they're all control freaks, is the thing. laura, with her insatiable need for more, the way she'll swallow the whole world just so she knows it's sitting in her belly. cass, with - she laughs - does she even have to think it? name it, and it becomes real, she thinks, bitter. name it, and she may as well be talking to the therapist that charges too much, and she can't really afford it anyway, and for all they're willing to forget a name when it's a god, the old cunt always stumbles over cassandra. and sakhmet, claws and teeth and bloodlust all to keep something, anything, under her thumb.
