the quiet ritual of burning and healing - i become the phoenix, burning away the old to rise anew
steam and silence
sitting in the shower the boiling rain falls down on me and i’m calm i tell myself it's washing away all of my sins when i stand up the steam rolls off my red, tender skin and i’m refreshed but cold again
There is something I have just noticed about Belos’s death.
The boiling rain only appears once Belos does, and disappears the second he dies. Now, since the Titan was able to shape the clouds into a glyph for Luz, we know that he has some control over the weather of the Boiling Isles. This leads to one of two implications. Either the Titan summoned the rain to kill off Belos, or Luz, with the Titan’s power did.
Chances are that that was not intentional, but I like the idea.
I'd like to see another boiling rain episode in season 2. It was specifically shown in the first one that they need to put a barrier over the house, and now that no one in the Owl House has natural magic, that could be a problem.
It could be an intense episode about their lives being in danger while they're trapped inside the house, except in a very different way, because now it's an environmental threat rather than an predator one. It could show their weakness and vulnerability from having lost their powers. It could force them to come together as a family, since I'd imagine that Lilith would still be quite divided from the rest of them.
It could also be about discovering a gliph to make a barrier. 'The Intruder' had Luz learn her first spell to defeat the threat, so in this episode, either Eda and/or Lilith could independently learn a gliph for the first time, or, Luz and Eda discover a gliph together for the first time, with Luz helping her learn how to find gliphs, and Eda teaching her how barriers work.
It could also result in considerable damage being done to the Owl House, which would give Luz a chance to make use of her Construction Track study.
yknow, rain is just so pretty and it sounds so nice and it reflects light, especially colored light so nicely.. i can understand why belos wanted to invade the human realm
