This has to be my favourite expression of all-time in a J-movie/J-drama.

Yuto nailed it real hard. The face of a longing man, trying to comprehend the very depths of his beloved’s emotions.

He wasn’t being submissive, rather, his eyes portrayed a lost soul in search of a path, a visible road that he can tread on. Uemura Koharu (Yuko) hid her raw feelings underneath the outgoing and cheerful personality, hence Hayama Ryota (Yuto) thrives to crack her façade in order for their relationship to advance any further.

To think that the real-life Yuto doesn’t behave much like Ryota, all sullen and passive. His acting was good, you have to admit.
