I just showed my roommates Bold Native. For those who haven't seen it, it is a film about animal liberation and it takes the all the clips we have seen from factory farms and the statistics we've heard, and it sprinkles them around at key points throughout the movie.

I'm not sure about their reactions. One said thought provoking, and the other just kind of went "huh". This was my second time watching it, and even after seeing it before, as well as watching Earthlings and several other documentaries, and my reaction was to still sit there, stare as my eyes unfocused from the view in front of me, with my whole body shaking. I was holding back tears, and my roommates just went about their business. So I put on the same face and went about continuing the things I had to do tonight. Ultimately, I know one will not, as he sees it as interference to man's main objective of saving the lost souls and leading them to God, and the other probably won't do much of anything either, since I'm fairly certain he doesn't see it as an option for him, since he likes meat too much. He probably saw it as too preachy or too biased, but there isn't much I can do. It is the first bit of vegan cinematics I've shown to him. My other roommate, who roomed with me last year, has already watched either Earthlings or Gary Yourofsky's Speech. He has already explicitly told me that he would not focus on animal rights and going vegan because it is drawing focus away from God.

I guess all I can do is keep on being vegan and hope I can get someone to change on my account. To my knowledge, I haven't influenced anyone to even really consider it at all; this, combined with the fact I have no vegan friends, let alone know anyone else who is vegan, is discomforting.
