Fabian Akilles at The Trash Bar

Fabian Akilles has been killin' lately. Check out these photos from his Evil Round That Corner album release party at The Trash Bar in Brooklyn. There was an open bar during his set so needless to say everyone was feeling irie on the dance floor. Fabian and his band shut it down to a packed house; free drinks and live hip hop reggae apparently are a perfect combination.

Dewey Decibel made a surprise appearance and performed his new single "Love." The crowd went nuts as D. Decibel melted faces with his relaxed tongue twisted flow.

Shabazz Palaces at The Blockley

"Clear some space out, so we can space out"

Last night Shabazz Palaces performed to an undulating crowd of listeners intoxicated by the pulsating sounds of ancient rhythms combined with intergalactic echoes and Ishmael Butler's OG raps. They stretched out their songs live, built up the beats organically, and spaced out; blending each track into each other, creating kinetic momentum shattering everyone's paradigms of hip hop/rap music. The energy from their bodies and instruments shattered the sound system, the low end was too much for the speakers to handle creating a lush audible environment and mayhem for the sound man. They didn't talk to the crowd, they simply came to the stage and went into an hour long trance, hypnotizing the entire audience.
