Now my dream of giving back to the Metal community is a reality! Applications are now open to win first ever @headbangforscience scholarship award! I’ve teamed with @bolddotorg to help facilitate this process, which I was stressing on for awhile bc I had no idea how to manage all the applications that would come in. They make it so easy and the really cool thing is that students that apply for #headbangforscience will also be alerted to other scholarships that match their profile. It’s free for students to apply, and Bold.org pays the school’s financial aid department directly. In our first year, we are going to award $33K to THREE Metal loving students, $11K each, and we decided to open it up to not only high school seniors but also to undergraduates and grad students who are majoring in healthcare and/or the physical sciences. That way we can cover way more ground. Part of the Bold.org application process is writing an 666 word essay answering the following questions: 1. Tell us about yourself. 2. What are your academic and professional goals? 3. Why do you need this scholarship award? 4. How are you planning to pay for your education? 5. Tell us what Heavy Metal music means to you? Applications are open for the next three months. I am going to announce winners on stage @inkcarcerationfestival on July 14th.
