Birthday Greetings to the veteran actor and theatre artist Kulbhushan Kharbanda, who turned 74 years today.
Veteran actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda is largely known for his character roles, often cast as the father or the wise old head.
Starting with Delhi-based theatre group Yatrik in the 1960s, he moved to films with Sai Paranjpye's Jadu Ka Shankh in 1974, he worked in several parallel cinema films, before working in mainstream Bollywood.
He first got noticed in Shyam Benegal's Nishaant (1974), with whom he went on to work in several more films including, Manthan (1976) and Bhumika: The Role (1977), Junoon (1978), and Kalyug (1980).
While Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s fame as a versatile actor earned him a celebrity status in countless Hindi films, still remembered as the villain Shaakal in 'Shaan' or the deceptive husband Inder in 'Arth', his sensitive, spontaneous and intelligent acting in theatre was well established long before his foray into mainstream and parallel cinema.
In this photo, he is with Shabana Azmi in Shyām Benegal's Antarnaad.
There are many TV actresses for whom fans are wishing to make a shift to Bollywood. Jennifer Winget to Hina Khan, 5 TV divas who we want to watch on Big Screen.
Sushant Singh Rajput's fans, family members and friends have been sharing his rare pictures on social media. Recently, we stumbled upon a video of the late actor and it is unmissable!
In this unseen video, the actor is seen reciting a Krishna bhajan. He is seen sitting in front of a mic and singing a Krishna bhajan titled Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari. The 'Kedarnath' actor seems to be totally immersed in the song. It was reportedly shot at his sister’s house in Panchkula.

Avneet Kaur was last seen playing Yasmine in Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga opposite Siddharth Nigam. The actress and famous TikTok star had appeared for her HSC board exams and with the result coming in yesterday, she’s ecstatic with her scores. She has managed to pass with 74% marks and is very happy with it since she had a lot going on at that point. Speaking to a leading daily, Avneet shared the news and excitement post-results. Avneet was down with Dengue during the exams. She could not take completely off from shoot and had to leave for Phuket for a music video shoot. She says that she did not expect to score marks this well since she was too stressed at that point. When she returned from Phuket, she barely had time left to study and ended up losing a lot of weight due to stress. Congratulations on scoring well, Avneet!
Writer Apurva Asrani has taken R Balki up on his challenge. Balki had said on nepotism debate that ‘find me a better actor than Alia (Bhatt) or Ranbir (Kapoor), and we’ll argue’. Apurva has nine suggestions.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen together in Brahmastra
Film editor and writer Apurva Asrani has contested filmmaker R Balki’s recent comments defending Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s skills as actors. Balki’s comments came at a time when the debate around nepotism in the film industry has been reignited. Calling nepotism a ‘foolish argument’, Balki had said in a Hindustan Times interview, “The question is do they (star kids) have an unfair or bigger advantage? Yes, there are pros and cons. But I’d ask one simple question: Find me a better actor than Alia (Bhatt) or Ranbir (Kapoor), and we’ll argue. It’s unfair on these few people who’re probably some of the finest actors.” In his reply on Twitter, Apurva wrote, “Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Richa Chaddha. Many others too if we look beyond A list film families, and take a few chances. I love Ranbir & Alia, but please, they aren’t the only good actors.” He added, “Some filmmakers & journalists are so star struck, that they gush over mediocre actors with famous surnames. Repeatedly, these actors headline projects & the press gushes. Talented actors are mostly used as garnishing--to make the mediocre look better, but NEVER to outshine them.” Balki had said that nepotism is an ever-present practice, and not restricted to the film business. “It’s undeniable that this happens everywhere. Think about the Mahindras, Ambanis, Bajajs… Their father passed on the businesses to them. Does anyone say ‘No I don’t think Mukesh Ambani shouldn’t run this business, someone else should?’ In every strata of the society, it happens, even a driver or a vegetable seller passes on businesses to their children. So, it’s a foolish argument. Remember we live in a free society,” he’d said. Balki added, “Understand that audiences don’t like actors without talent. Sometimes, they also want to see star kids on screen. That’s only the first chance that you get, and then one needs to survive on their own. I agree it’s far more difficult for an outsider to make an entry in films, but talent gets the opportunity.” Both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who are also in a relationship, belong to families with a long legacy in the film industry. They will star opposite each other for the first time in the upcoming Brahmastra.
