Anyone But You | Nilak & Sura
Sura's wide eyes stared over his shoulder, seeing the large airship glide above the water in the opposite direction, having been one of the last off. They were picking more people up, it seemed, as a small sigh escaped Sura's lips, blinking up at the sun and cringing a little. He wasn't used to humidity, or anything hot for that matter. After living the high majority - if not all - of your life in the water tribe, this kind of weather was horribly hard to get used to. Sura found himself taking off his jacket, prioritizing that to begin with as he stood, hoping that his belongings had been taken to his new apartment that his parents already arranged for him, giving him nothing but an address. Figures; Sura wasn't even able to pick one for himself, as soon as they had found out there were no dorms available, they took it upon themselves to find a 'suitable' enough place to stay. Once he had tied the arms to his cloak around his small waist, Sura's wide eyes stared down at the letter in his hand that he had been told not to open until he got there, nostrils flaring at it. Probably some soppy letter or reminder of every rule he had to upkeep on his stay here. He had come here for freedom, not conservative customs. He decided not to read it for now, and instead, walk around a little, breathe the air that Republic City brought, a small smile spreading across his face. Yes, this was a good idea. He was out, he was free, he was not Sura of the Northern Tribe; not today at least. Today, he was Sura of Republic City. It had a nice ring to it. His aching limbs stretched as he began to walk off the wharf and into the city, wondering if there would be a place to practice his water bending on his stay, wondering if he could watch any tournaments. So much to think about, so little time. The buildings went up to sigh that he had to crane his neck and squint to see the top floor, automobiles whizzing by, people going down concrete streets. Definitely a good idea, a perfect idea. Maybe Sura should never even leave - Sura found himself in so much awe he didn't see where he was going, face-planting into someone's back before he knew it and stumbling back a little. "Oh- sorry, I didn't see you-" Doe-eyed, Sura looked up and went to bow formally - a habit long-etched into his subconscious, only for his eyes to look up and stare when he immediately recognised his face. Shit. No. No, no this was not a good idea, Republic City was now a very bad idea. He glared up at the man, lips pressing together in a thin line, hands curling as if to bend the man's face off that had annoyed him so much in his life. "You." It was all he could say, accusingly so, his nostrils flaring, his arms folding to contain his irritation. He didn't even know what to say, his face was going red with anger. "Actually, if you're here, I think I might leave, get a refund, go back to the North -" He turned, to see the boat already long on it's way to the horizon, a whine escaping heart-shaped lips. "Shit." He swore, something he never would have said in public in the North. He was staying. That was that; the metallic shine of the back of the ship seemed to be laughing at his demise. His face turned, jaw clenching, the much shorter man a little packet of rage as his eyes narrowed at him. "Do you purposely try to ruin my life? What are you doing here?" He grumbled, looking away.
