Have you ever heard of Bombjack?

 It’s a pretty old game. It released on a few different consoles but I always played it on my parents’ Gameboy and, honestly, THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD. It’s literally one of the best chiptune soundtracks out there, even if there are only like three songs.

This is the game over theme. IT MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME. IT’S ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PIECES OF MUSIC EVER.

This amazing soundtrack was composed by Alberto Gonzalez who is SOOOO UNDERRATED IT HURTS. Literally none of the Gameboy version Bombjack soundtrack is on Spotify or anything and I would love to see this amazing music covered and shared more often.

I just thought I’d spread the word in case any musicians out there are looking for something to cover next. This would be an brilliant and unique choice and if you do cover it or know anyone who has, PLEASE PUT IT ON SPOTIFY I REALLY WANT TO HEAR.

Retro Is “IN” again..and again – Hamster Retro Games It had to happen alright but i never expected it to happen this quick, what am I on about now? , you say, well there’s been very little games released in Asia for the PS4 so far so Sony decided to contact “HAMSTER” to get more games released and while the gamers out there want new games i kind of doubt they want very old new games this early in the PS4 generation/cycle. Using unreal to create a platform game format like bombjack

Using unreal, I manipulated the platform structure in this demo.

Unreal is made for games on phones or PC’s. It abstracts out unnecessary parts of the coding that aren’t worth taking up time when making a game. The controls would work with the inputs of a PC keyboard or even a joy-pad. Input touch has a different element. Pressed and released are components or input action jump however a touch screen would have ‘move’ because it can be pressed and manipulated. Touch input can monitor up to ten fingers simultaneously, so there are different commands attached to the format of coding for touch input.

The code for this simple node diagram have pins that are joined meaning the flow of information goes along the strings of the diagram. Similar to pure data, the complex system acts like a kind of digital circuit.

A variable is a container for information. Variables in programming for this task are to set and retrieve our variables value. The variable we are using here are bombs, the value is however many bombs there are being used.

To add a variable to the blueprint, we must add variables to the titled drop down on the left of Unreal Engine.

Boolean

Integer and float - whole numbers and floats are used for measuring distance, or meter needing detail and it would have a decimal. For our bombs, we are using integers.

Object oriented programming:  Object-oriented programming (OOP) is aprogramming language model organized aroundobjects rather than "actions" and data rather than logic. Historically, a program has been viewed as a logical procedure that takes input data, processes it, and produces output data.

The variable needs to be used outside of it’s scope

The tool tip is the information shown when hovered over the variable.
