The Moment I Fell in Love with Music Production

I remember being about 11 or 12, sitting in the living room, and repeatedly playing a VHS recording I made of Erick Sermon's "Bomdigi" I made from Rap City.  I literally sat and bobbed my head until my neck hurt.  Looking back, that might have been the day I became obsessed with beats.  The heavy repetitive bass, those dirty drums, the sample that's in there as a spice instead of the of the entree... that's the style of beat that laid the foundation for what I feel is my favorite type of Hip-Hop music.  "Ask anybody, who's the dopest producer", was the line that eventually hipped me to what production was.  I didn't really understand what he was talking about but I somehow knew that Erick Sermon made the beats that I loved. I quickly became completely infatuated with everything that had his name on it.  Keith Murray's "The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World" &  Erick Sermon's "Double or Nothing" had me in a headlock for years.

Here's to Erick Sermon for sending me down a rabbit hole I will never get out of.
