Hotspur Tower, Alnwick - aka Bondgate Tower - a medieval gateway which was part of the town walls. The walls were built in the 15th century to defend the town from the raids common along the England-Scotland border. (piningforthewest:)

The price of a night out drinking was a slow start the following day. Well, it was Sunday, so perfect for a leisurely day in Alnwick. First we headed east up Fenkle Street, through the Market Place and up Bondgate. At the medieval gate (known as the Hotspur tower and the only original that remains of four that once surrounded the town), we turned left to visit Alnwick Gardens.
