X: Like iron shavings falling into alignment in a magnetic field, the pieces come to rest on the ground in a strangely perfect linear formation.

How does this guide help with osteomancy?

The energy of an individual may be left behind in their bones (same as pictures or other artifacts), even long after they’re gone. This energy can not only affect you if you choose to wear the bones, but also your readings! Additionally, many animists believe that the spirits of the animals’ bones you’re throwing are influencing the reading for you, as the bones are used as a connection to their spirits. In this sense, it’s important to understand core traits of the individuals whose bones you’re utilizing, because their energy or personalities (or characteristics in general) may shine through! Each individual is different, but your species does impact who you are, so I hope this helps!

I have a few ideas and have been told to use items with meaning to you. But I don’t know much about it and have been having trouble finding good resources!

When reading any medium that involves throwing something over a reading surface, it's interesting to look not only at where the pieces fall but also where they don't.

Empty spaces also carry information. If I'm doing a three-way reading (the most traditional being money, health and love) and one of those spaces is almost untouched by my reading medium? There's something to be said there. It's not negative, it's not positive either, it's literally your absence from a space. It may be a call to be more present, engaged and intentional, with that part of your life.

Good morning, doves!

Well, I was just going to do a lil Osteomancy reading for you, and then a whopper came out, so fasten your seatbelts and make sure your tray tables are in the upright positions!

As always, if this reading doesn't apply to you, then you need not take it <3 You don't need to do anything to claim this, and you can take what resonates and leave the rest. I'm not one of those tiktok readers who will make you like/share/follow to claim, and if you come across one of those, just know that is a scam!!

Anyway, let's start with the bones. The lil orange bone in the middle (in osteomancy even non-bones are called bones) represents You! and everything else is oriented to you. Closest to you we have the bone representing "Femininity." This can be an actual person, but it can also just be feminine energy. The long thin one represents Evil, Bad Intentions, that kind of thing, and then the one to our right of the long thin one represents Health. Up top we have the Masculine bone, and way up top, touching the black rim, is the Wealth bone. To the left, the black heart, represents Love! And finally down left, the straight thin one, represents Family.

When so many bones come out to play, especially with the evil/bad intentions one out, I like to draw oracle cards as well, so here they are.

Isn't this deck just so cute? But phew, those are some rough ones, but they do shed some light on the situation!

What I'm seeing:

The evil/bad intentions bone doesn't always have to stand for actual evil, it can stand for something bad happening in your life, and what I'm seeing is the toxic behavior patterns signified by the "Mice" card. Because this Evil bone is standing between you and the Health bone, this is actually causing problems for you health-wise. Perhaps you're isolating, or maybe your stress and anxiety are so bad, but you're not reaching out for help. This is a really big problem, not just for your health, but we can see the Wealth bone is way up at the rim of the circle, and anything outside the circle no longer matters to the reading. So if it had gone any further, then wealth wouldn't matter to the reading anymore. Your problems, your behavior patterns, whatever it is you're going through could be affecting your job, your finances, so many areas of your life beyond just your health.

And the thing is, we can see that both Love and Family are close to the bone representing You! They have a clear path to You, and if you just reach out to them, they will be there for you. They will help you, if you just stop isolating and creating distance between you.

Let them love you. Let them support you. You don't have to do this alone.
