have found some parts of a bird skeleton (I believe). does anyone know if there’s a way to narrow down which species it is? it’s just some parts of the ribcage and wings, no skull
my longest owned skull. unfortunately he has some chipping behind his orbits but he’s survived multiple cross country moves and is always the first skull i unwrap.
12|12|2024 - update
it looks much cleaner after the last update where i scrubbed it and scraped out some dried brains. degreasing water 2 ignore the green color it’s dye in the soap i’m using but it won’t effect the color of the skull itself.
i’m actually much happier with how clean it looks now u can see a round dark spot on the left side of the skull that’s where the brains were stuck/dried to.
the beak part is broken and sensitive so that’s why i’m encasing it in resin. hoping it’ll hold up when it’s in the hydrogen peroxide which thankfully will be soon. i will have to check up on it every 5-8 hrs to make sure the hydrogen hasn’t broken the sensitive parts down fully.
