What are Runningnose's thoughts on TPB Medicine Cats?

Runny was Yellowfang's apprentice for a long time and got veryacquainted with the personalities of various Clerics over the years.

ThunderClan: Goosefeather, Featherwhisker, Spottedleaf, Cinderpelt

These cats are freaks and he hates them. Creepy, intense, nosy bastards. He only met Goosefeather a few times, but he hated his little eyes and dire seriousness. Featherwhisker was worse, always probing, asking questions, trying to get information out of him.

Spottedleaf had a good sense of humor, very ShadowClan-friendly, but she was a lot like Featherwhisker with her constant questions. Worse, it was like she knew something, even when he hadn't done anything wrong yet. Very unsettling.

Healthy leeches though. She has some beautiful specimens. If nothing else he can appreciate her leech husbandry.

And lastly there's Cinderpelt... she would be the only one he liked, if it wasn't for how Yellowfang was her mentor. Ugh, she took so much from Yellowfang, sometimes it's like being next to a blue-eyed clone, but with none of Brokenstar's handsomeness. Littlecloud likes her though, and he can appreciate how happy she makes him.

Another point to how much Littlecloud reminds him of Brokenstar.

WindClan: Barkface

Barkface is a very talented medic and an endless source of practical treatment information. Unfortunately, he is also from WindClan. Runningnose has wanted WindClan gone since kithood.

So it doesn't matter that Barkface is nice. He will use him for his information until the moment comes where WindClan is no more. This is a long term goal he has planned.

RiverClan: Brambleberry, Mudfur.

Normal people. Brambleberry is a good, wise person who's good at telling stories. Mudfur is happy to let there be silence, doesn't talk incessantly. Easily his favorite peers.

How did Runningnose feel about Brokenstar’s death? I bet he missed his evil mans

Bonefall Runningnose feels his loss every single day. He is like a claw with no paw, a hawk with no sky, a web with no spider.

Brokenstar's first death was hard enough; but Runningnose doesn't despair. He's the sort of person who expresses grief through even more dedication; so his next step was getting Nightstar out of power. That soft, weak cat who worked with those ThunderClan mangepelts to usurp the rightful leader of ShadowClan...

He knew he would be reunited with Brokenstar in the Dark Forest one day, and found comfort in training Littlecloud to be the next cleric (he reminds him so, so much of his honor sire), but that doesn't fix absence. It can't change how the world feels colder when he realizes his badger-sized shadow is no longer making his silhouette larger. It doesn't replace his rich purr of approval for a scheme well-planned.

Giving the childhood acorn necklace to Firestar when Brokenstar realized his destiny was to revive SkyClan was... hard. Very hard. He didn't want to do it, because it would mean not being able to channel him, and even more, it would mean there would be no Brokenstar in his afterlife. True hell.

But he does it. He gives his most prized possession to a kittypet, because he'll do anything for Brokenstar. Even if it means letting him go.

He waits for him. He waits for him as long as he must; even as Tigerstar's ridiculous ambition grates on his nerves in OotS. Living in the Dark Forest without Brokenstar really is the hell he thought it would be; he sees it as punishment for his actions.

If you love something, let it go. If it doesn't come back, it never belonged to you in the first place. He has to believe this. If a ThunderClan child can wait in tunnels for a thousand seasons, then so can he.

I know Blossomkit had shown interest in medicine in Cats of the Clans and since she lives longer than she did in canon I gotta ask: does she get to become one for however long she's allowed to live or is she forced into the path of a warrior?

I only hesitate because Runningnose would not want to make himself replaceable by taking an apprentice at this time. He's tried to be careful, but he is in a Clan with many enemies of his cause.

But he will need more paws around, there are a lot of sick people.

He could have made an ironic promise, "...okay, Blossomfrost. Do exactly as I tell you, take no risks, and if we survive this plague, I will take you as my apprentice."
