bones goes for days without eating during the academy.simply put, he spends more time on his feet with a scalpel in his hand, then in their dorm wrapped up in blankets (and Jim).

so, finally, Jim gets ingenious. he calls the hospital and graciously tells them to go fuck themselves (“Bones can’t come in today, he’s sick.” “He’s the best we’ve got, we need him” “yes, I’m sure you need him coughing and puking all over your patient with his organs opened up” “I see your point”), and creates a virtual banquet of strong black coffee, pancakes, sausages and eggs, with a bowl of greek yogurt off to the side.

and when bones wakes, he’s got his face stuffed with food before he can stop himself (which makes it all the worse when Jim tells him he’s not going to work today because he’s sick, as he kind of choked on the sausage he was inhaling).
