Warnings: Spoilers obvs, nsfw, me simping over his tattoos?
First let’s appreciate Lee Do Hyun’s acting skills, he amazed me by his performance switching between the character and the spirit.
So let’s start:
So tbh we thought Bong-gil and Lee Hwa-rim would be a couple and got a little disappointed.
But the chemistry guyssss it’s something about the chemistry.
When you watch the movie it’s not a chemistry between couples but more of a siblings relationship thing.
The way he protected Hwa-rim from the Japanese evil spirit and she didn’t runaway although anyone would’ve done it.
You can’t tell me it’s not a sibling kind of a relationship because if you have siblings you’ll understand my point.
I think no one told him what happened exactly when he was unconscious in the hospital and the evil spirit possessed him. Or maybe they told him he was just possessed, nothing more, no details.
He is either an only child no other siblings or he’s the youngest.
In my opinion the youngest is more open to the spirit world. Not in all cases though.
If he’s an only child it explains his behavior towards the others, very kind and caring because he sees them as his family.
He’s a foodie, you’ll always find him with something to munch on. If it’s not a snack it will be a piece of gum.
It came from his anxiety, his interactions with spirits are sometimes overwhelming and by time he became anxious.
He used to wear earings. You can’t tell me otherwise he will look so cute with earrings.
That man has no idea the girls in his gym are drooling over him every time he walks in, the tattoos and the man bun are so damn good.
Although most of these girls have no idea what does his tattoos mean but they think it’s hot anyways.
When he’s in a relationship he’s a puppy, loyal and would follow his s/o anywhere she goes.
His love language is food, he likes someone? would know their favorite drink and brings it to them out of the blue.
He’s into vanilla sex more than anything else.
His favorite positions are missionary and spooning.
He wants to see his partner’s face in this intimate moment, he loves to kiss and hug them.
He’s talkative too, loves to whisper sweet words.
He’s goofy and laughs a lot when he’s doing the thing yk.
His kisses are sweet and soft. He takes his time in his kisses, and don’t you dare break that kiss he’ll just think you’re mad at him and would overthink everything.
Although he loves his partner so much, he doesn’t talk about them a lot, maybe he mentioned them to Hwa-rim few times.
He’s the kind to blush when someone mentions his s/o.
Overall I think Bong-gil is a sweet, caring and a reliable person. And I’m glad he lived.
So tell me what do you think? Send me your headcanons too, I’ll gladly share them. Have a nice day!
The faint glow of his alarm clock was the only thing illuminating his room.
Izuku tossed and turned. His room felt too warm and his blanket stuck to his sweaty skin. Another nightmare kept him up. He checked the clock.
Rolling over, he clicked the aircon on with a remote. The cool air blew directly on him, chilling his hot skin and drying the sweat that clung to him. The faint hum began to lull him to sleep. As Izuku fell into a dreamless limbo, he was pulled out of it just as quickly when suddenly, the glowing ceased and the aircon stopped.
Thunk.
The sound came from somewhere in his home. The sound of footsteps followed.
Izuku chalked it up to his mother getting something from the kitchen—probably just a glass of water since it’s so hot.
The outage lasted only a few seconds before the power came back. The aircon kicked back on, sending chills up Izuku’s spine. His room was once again illuminated softly by his digital clock, the faint red flashing, begging to be reset.
He didn’t bother to reset it.
The sun rose when Izuku heard his mother scream his name from the kitchen. He bolted out of bed straight to her, worrying about what caused the sudden outburst. When he arrived in the kitchen, he saw what it was that caused her to be so startled.
All of the kitchen cabinets were wide open.
“How…” he started.
“This isn’t funny, Izuku.”
“It wasn’t me, mom! I promise.”
“I know you’re upset about your backpack, but this prank wasn’t funny.”
Izuku watches as tears fill his mother’s eyes.
“No, mom, I’m serious, it wasn't me!”
His mother sighed, a sad look crossed her features. She was silent for a moment.
Izuku hesitated to say the worst. “I think someone is messing with me.”
“Izuku, that’s ridiculous. No one has been in this house except for us.”
“All of my notebooks were ruined. My backpack was ripped. My things keep going missing. We should call the police—”
“What will we tell them? Izuku, I know you’ve been through a lot, and I’ve been worried, but…” She froze.
Izuku knew what she was going to say and he dreaded it.
Finally, she finished, “Perhaps it would be good for you to stay at the UA dorms.”
“But I want to be home—”
“I think being with your friends right now is important.”
He knew it wasn’t about that. Izuku was changed. He knew that when she looked at him, she didn’t see her crybaby son who so desperately wanted to be a hero anymore. He knew that when she looked at him, she saw a murderer too. He could feel it; the way it ached in his muscles and marred his flesh. She would never say it, but he knew.
Izuku spent the rest of the week packing his belongings to take to the dorm. He tried to pack lightly, thinking it would only be for a short while until tensions in his house dissipated. Most of the UA students moved back home, however, Todoroki stayed back at the dorms given his family’s situation. Izuku didn’t blame him.
“I’m surprised to see you back here,” he said.
“My mom and I had a fight,” Izuku told him honestly. “I’ve never had a fight like that with her before.”
“You can come to my room when you’re done unpacking. We can talk about it, if you want.”
Izuku nodded, politely accepting the offer. Todoroki stepped out to give the other teen space. Izuku ripped the tape off of a box containing some of his All Might collectables. He lined the action figures up along his desk and taped the posters to the wall. His cherished All Might “Plus Ultra” mug that he got after his mentor became a teacher sat in the corner. He pulled out his bedding as well and made his bed.
Once his room was finished, he sat in his desk chair staring at his array of things. His eyes wandered to the ceiling where the overhead fluorescent light hummed ever so softly. It flickered gently against the bright white of the ceiling. Before he knew it, he flipped it off and found himself heading towards Todoroki’s room on autopilot.
He froze at the face of his door, his hand raised ready to knock. He took a deep breath before tapping on the painted wooden surface. The other teen answered quickly and beckoned him to come in. Todoroki had pulled out a small table and two floor cushions to sit on. Izuku sat in one as Todoroki shuffled around him. He pulled out a bottle of something and set it on the table with two small ceramic cups. Izuku’s jaw dropped when his eyes read the label.
“Sake?!” he gasped. “B-but we’re underage! How did you get this—why do you have it?! I didn’t think you were that kind of person Todoroki-kun—”
“Calm down, it’s okay. I got it from Bakugou, actually.”
“You and Kacchan have been drinking?!”
“Not a lot. Just a little bit sometimes. See.” He pointed to the bottle where the line of liquor sat just about half way up the bottle. “Between the two of us that’s all we’ve drunk.”
“We’re supposed to be heroes. We shouldn’t be breaking the law like this.”
“Normal teenagers do it all the time. After everything we’ve been through, why can’t we be normal for once?” Todoroki poured a tiny amount into his cup, but didn’t make any indication that he would make Izuku drink if he didn’t want to.
The green eyed boy stared down at the bottle of poison. He had no idea his peers were drinking to cope with the aftermath of the battle. It felt so wrong, but his friend’s point about wanting to feel normal resonated with him. Months ago, those words would’ve felt selfish and hollow. All Might chose him to be his successor. Izuku had the heart of a true hero, and it resonated with others, even the man he looked up to the most. Yet, he failed, and when Izuku closed his eyes and took a deep breath, he saw those red eyes in his mind again.
‘You’re a murderer.’ Spinner’s words haunted him too. I killed somebody.
Picking up the cup, he held it out shakily to Todoroki who poured the same amount into it.
“So, what did you fight with your mom about?” the other teen asked.
Izuku threw the alcohol back, wincing at the burning sensation it left in his throat. He coughed at the taste and Todoroki patted his back.
“I think she ruined my backpack,” he confessed. “I don’t want to think that she did, but who else would’ve done it? I thought maybe someone broke into our house to mess with me, but she denied all of it.”
Todoroki sipped his sake before he responded, “Your mom doesn’t seem like that kind of person. Also, you’re supposed to sip it.”
“She’s not, that’s why it’s weird. But, if she didn’t do it, then who did?”
“Then maybe it was a villain who broke into your home.” Todoroki poured him another glass, this one with a bit more than before.
“Or maybe it was a ghost,” Izuku joked in response.
Todoroki froze. “Ghosts are real?”
“No, no. I was just making a joke. Anyway, if it is a villain—which would make sense—why wouldn’t they target me directly? Why mess with my mom?”
“Maybe they’re trying to mess with your head, or cause conflict between you and your mom so you’d be more isolated.”
Izuku hummed in response, sipping the alcohol this time. It tasted a bit sweeter, and the burn turned to a warmth in his chest. “I suppose that could be it. Well anyway, if I’m here, at least they won’t do anything to harm my mom.”
“You’re safe here. If they try anything again, we’ll definitely catch them.” Todoroki smiled softly, a look of determination set into his eyes.
Izuku tried to mirror his response, but it was a weak attempt. So, he finished off the rest of his sake, asking for more. The alcohol made his head buzz and he hated to admit how much better it made him feel. It only took a few more cups for him to feel his confidence grow exponentially.
“How are things with your family?” he asked.
Todoroki grew quiet for a moment before he answered, “Dad’s been visiting Touya everyday. The doctors are surprised he’s made it this long.”
“I—” Izuku hiccuped, “I’m surprised too. But, the reports on Dabi always said that he was stubborn. He lived this long for revenge, but maybe you can give him a new reason to live.”
Todoroki smiled at that. The war was unfair. If only he had been able to reach out sooner. If only he stopped him properly back during the raid on the Paranormal Liberation Front. Izuku understood it well. He, too, had his own if only.
