#legally I have to vote for the song that saved me from a bear legally you should elaborate
!!! I probably wasn’t in any real danger, bear attacks in this area are very rare… but a few summers ago I was alone on a run in the mountains very early in the morning and saw:
You’re supposed to make loud human noises to scare black bears away but *I* was so startled I couldn’t think of anything to say (excellent survival instincts). I was listening to Voulez-Vous (1979) at the time so I unplugged my headphones and blasted “Angeleyes,” which made the bear scurry across the road down the hill back into the trees 🐻🕺💃
omg shaun with 4C???

GIMME NANCY FACT re sleepover
:D sure, not sure what to sure as i don't really consider myself the most interesting of people, but i almost died on a amusement park ride once when I was 16. it was one of those tower swings :
i went with a group of friends in highschool but we were and odd numbered group and i ended up sitting alone. It was also very windy that day, and the ride had been closed until the wind died down. So we got up to the highest part of the ride and there was a gust of wind that forced my swing out, so it was no longer aligned to the other swings and every one started screaming, but it's fine because im still alive.
as someone who's not familiar with robles: how would you introduce them to someone who needs to get acquainted with them? :)
OH BOY thank you so much for this opportunity
so like maybe you have seen Tropic Thunder, maybe you haven't.
Rob Slolom and Les Grossman are these fuckers
in this movie about the making of a movie, they're the antagonists producers, very evil, willing-to-let-an-actor-die-so-they-can-claim-the-insurance-later evil.
many people remember Les, the guy on the right. because he's played by Tom Cruise and is so foul-mouthed and bad tempered and looks like That that people don't realize it's him until the credits, where they reveal it like this
the other is Rob, the guy on the right, played by the then 29-year-old Bill Hader. no one remembers him. the few Bill fans that do remember him don't really care about him beyond that he's played by Bill
and like. in a movie that's a satire about the state of hollywood that still holds up well now, filled with tropes and gags and over-the-top characters, these two could have very easily been the one-note Evil Producer Who Treats Everyone Like Shit and Their Lackey That Kisses Their Ass Out Of Fear villains
except that they're not
in the about 15 minutes of combined screen time they have together, somehow Rob is the only person that Les treats differently. he never gives Rob a direct command, he never yells at Rob, he asks Rob for his opinion on things, he GIVES ROB A GENUINE COMPLIMENT.
and on the other end, Rob's loyalty to Les feels so unwaveringly sincere, like he truly admires Les, would do anything for Les, and falls in sync with Les without with ever having to tell him to do so.
now, am i reading into this too much? maybe. am i going insane from brainrot? most likely. but i've been obsessing over them since January 2021 bc @threeoaksy got me into them and i'm not about to stop.
in any case i Love Them.
what is your fave childhood movie? :)
@bonojour
Oh goodness! I’ve got a few, but Mary Poppins has to be up there. Also love the Three Men and a Baby/Little Lady movies too, my mum and I used to watch those all the time!
primal scream! :-)
