#book recommendations please

I've been reading a lot of pot boiler fantasy, which is fun and enjoyable. But I feel like I have been avoiding heavier books to avoid dealing with feeling too much or just escaping reality so much that it has become a bit of a habit.

So can people recommend me books? Books that you had to put down at times to process, or that made you stare into space. Tell me the books that altered you please. Doesn't matter genre or whent hey were written, fiction or non, tell me the books you would take into isolation with you.

My exams will be over in a week (!!!!) MY EXAMS ARE DONE

I will have 6 months free to do anything before Uni. Therefore I have tried to compiled a list of shows/movies/books to read/watch.

I encourage (re: beg) my mutuals and everyone to recommend more so I don't die of boredom or worse...

I'm trying to find a book for my sister-in-law. She likes to go places and travel but I want to find her a fictional book. I wish there was a 39 Clues book but for adults because that's kind of what I'm looking for.

What to read?

I just finished Unlocked (I will admit to skipping through quite a bit of it) and One Of Us Is Lying (It was really good, definitely worth it)

Next on my reading list is Six of Crows. I’ve seen people talk about it a lot, so....

Also on my reading list is They Both Die At The End (We all know I’m not making it through that one without crying. I can hardly make it through ANY show without crying, let alone something like Until We Meet Again- which is where my profile picture comes from, by the way- so anything with death in the title? No way)

Any other recommendations?
