This morning I posted the last chapter of the Laidiria trilogy, the fantasy saga I have been posting on Wattpad the past months.
This post is a post to thank not the people who supported me, I already thanked them in the epilogue’s author’s notes. This post is a post to thank my story.
And, as such, it’s a post where I will brag about it and I’ll look for new readers to hook in my coils.
So, let’s get to the focal part of this.
Why should you read the Laidiria trilogy?
Because it’s complete.
That’s right, you won’t have to wait for any update. When a chapter will leave you hanging on a cliffhanger, you’ll be able to just scroll down with your finger and the story will be ready for you to read. The three books – Tanvar of the Flame, Amma of the Mind, Ingar of the Life – are already on Wattpad and are waiting for you!
Because it’s full of magic.
Are you looking for a book that will let you dive into a magical world, made of mysterious prophecies, all-seeing oracles, ancient gods, casts and spells, enchanted daggers, druids’ covens, sacred wells hidden in the woods? This is the story for you! Although the two main characters are normal humans, magic permeates the world they live in, flows in their loved ones’ veins.
Because it’s high fantasy.
This book contains all of the genre’s tropes. We already talked about magic, but what about the knights and forgotten princes? What about the castles, the weird creatures, the sword fights? In the premise you’ll find a map of the Kingdom we’ll be immersed in, and a good pantheon of gods that interfere with mortals maybe too often.
Because it’s inclusive.
I know,I know, I’ve awakened the social justice warrior (affectionate) in you, the part of you who needs genuine representation. Well, the main characters of the book, a brother and his sister, are two homeless people with black skin who are part of the LGBT community (he’s gay, she’s aroace). Every druid in this world is demisexual, and every elf is genderfluid. There is a queerplatonic relationship, healthy boundaries and everything you need!
Because there’s plenty of love.
The focal point of the story, what started everything and, as you’ll learn, will end everything is the love of a mother for her son. You’ll see love between siblings, unrequited love, troubled love, love that blooms and love that fades. Between a brother and his sister, a parent and a child, between friends and between lovers. Be it platonic or romantic, the most important thing is love, and “love” is the last word of the last chapter, I think it embodies the meaning of the three books.
Because it’s my favourite.
Everybody knows it, a writer who writes something they aren’t invested in will never write it as good as something they love. You can write for a commission, you can write somebody else’s story, you can write as a job, but the best books we write will always be the ones we write willingly. The more fun we have, the better we write.
These are only a few of the reasons I invite you to read my story, on a post that wanted to express all the gratitude I feel towards these characters, towards the events that kept me company, helped me and supported me while I wasn’t having the best of mental spaces.
If I sparked some curiosity in you, if you can read Italian, it you are looking for a classic high fantasy with some freshness and some –many – rainbows sparkled in you’re in the right place, and welcome to the family ❤️
